I had fun playing Stellaris multiplayer tonight, even if I did get thoroughly stomped tonight (I didn't lose but the only two players who got lower scores at the end of playing six hours was a couple of the AI players).

Uff da.

Anyways, back to my regular lineup of Dwarf Fortress and Factorio, though I may add a few new titles to my repertoire here soon. 😉

Geez, it feels like the first AI generated video just came out like a month ago, and now there are like dozens of them on YouTube already. That's probably an undercount.

As interesting as this is, I get the distinct sort of vibe from this that I felt when Magic Eye first came out. Everyone is jumping on it, and it's really neat, but just like it's LLM counterparts is highly derivative. Once the novelty wears off it will just be another tool that visual artists will use when they need it.

The goal is to ensure you call at a reasonable time in Calgary.

There would have been a tiny gif of the current time in Calgary, generated by a CGI script for every page visit.

There was no other way to do dynamic inclusions that worked in every browser

Also a sign of the times: the "last updated" footer, flexing that not only did you have a website, but you updated it

@ai6yr I once accidently brought a pocket knife (it was actually more of a multi-tool) in one of my bags to the airport. I totally forgot it was there. I was mortified and felt dumb for a while after that.

So while one key piece of the is that entire instances can be blocked as a form of moderation, and keeping things safe for people. I think it should be clearly stated to newcomers to any instance if entire platforms such as / / / .com / (through a bridge) are being blocked.

If someone wants to have a federated identity and follow family/friends on Meta then they are SOL if an instance completely blocks the entire platform.

@tim @anthracite I don't usually go out of my way to call out sometime on social media because I feel it's a waste of time and I have better things to do with my fleeting life and as I get older I'm more discerning with regards to how I want to spend the short time we all have on this ball of dirt we call Earth.
