@SimonRoyHughes It's been a real education researching old German words which were sometimes only used within a single district. And sometimes, I just have to guess for my translations.
If Ukraine is able to replace or recover damaged vehicles why is Zelensky still asking for more tanks (in Switzerland right now)? I thought the sanctions were going to trigger massive inflation and unrest in the Russian economy and their desire to support the war would disappear. I thought the Russians were out of ammunition...
The government of Russia is still committed to this war, and as long as this is the case the sanctions against Russia and the military support for Ukraine just continue.
@golgaloth Yes. International trade is a big thing, and the focus of the setting are huge cities, which have seen lots of immigration over the centuries.

During my study of German folklore, I was surprised to learn that one of the most common folk tale narratives featured treasure hunters - not just "people getting rewarded treasure for a virtuous deed", but people who heard that a treasure was at a certain location, and wanted to get it. I really don't understand the hate this show got. I really enjoyed it! A unique concept, story driven - season long plot arcs, great acting, incredible visuals, and fantastic characters. Sure there was some goofy stuff in there too, but star trek always has goofy shit....
Confession time: I am not overly enamored of "rules-lite" RPG systems. As long as the system is coherent and well-thought out, I prefer it when the system has rules for all sorts of things - from tactical combat to running chases to social encounters to falling damage and so forth. I like GURPS, I like D&D5E, I like Pathfinder...
What are the main forms of governments in your world? How are they ruled, and how is the ruler determined? Do you have a group of people in charge that are of equal power, a system that checks everyone's power, or something else entirely?
For Urbis, most governments on the region I am focused on are city state-based republics, although the definition of who gets to be a "citizen" varies widely. Furthermore, the people living in the "protectorates" surrounding each city-state tend to have far less of a say in politics than those living closer to the center of power.

Thanks! I'm still reading through the 1E APs (mostly for entertainment - I am unlikely to run Pathfinder soon, though Never Say Never), but this is a good overview.
So, religions in Dungeons & Dragons fantasy settings usually have some weird "Greek-style pantheism as viewed through the lens of Christian monotheism" thing, with worship of particular deities being fairly "standardized" and big religious conflicts occurring between the worshipers of different gods within the same pantheon....
Yeah, I'd rather have in-character discussions of faith and morality than just having deities (aka the game master) answer such matters directly. Makes for much better roleplaying!
Because I have no impulse control, I have created a #folklore and #mythology magazine on #kbin .
(For those who came in late, kbin is one of the #Fediverse#Reddit alternatives. If the site seems slow, this is because it gets hammered with new users due to the #RedditMigration .)
I think the online folklore community has suffered because there was no decent online forum catering to this interest (and I've have looked a long time for them). The closest were the assorted Hashtag Day events on #Twitter , and Twitter... has its own problems, as we all know.
