I spend a great deal of time writing software and articles about three-valued logic (also ternary).

Three truth values indicating true, false and some third value.

Every now and then I want to @mention someone I know, who I remember interacting with here at some point, but I can't remember their fediverse address. Every time I try, I remember the existing apps aren't good at helping me distinguishing my friends from the random strangers I've casually chatted with here.

This is why we're nowhere near ready to replace FarceBook. Although I'm hopeful that newer projects like Bonfire might get us closer...

Would DIDs or Decentralized IDs resolve the confusion? How much do "federated IDs" contribute to the confusion?

I am thrilled to discover !

I am considering starting my own instance. I have concerns about escalating costs, moderation and legal liability.

What has been your experience?

Is a instance disconnected from the greater a poor experience?

I would use the site for this purpose:

mikeel,

Excuse my ignorance here. To what extent can this problem be simplified with DIDs or Decentralized IDs, rather than "federated accounts".

Take the example of Filpboard. I signed up to integrate with . Supposedly, they have AI to process two disparate systems. The result: Nada. Why? Because I have to put some verification HTML in a website.

I have a "domain name handle" that should allow two independent information sources to communicate. The same account, or DID, needs to work on both systems. I don't see that.

How comprehensive are searches?

I am primarily interested in text search. I spent a couple of hours researching and experimenting with kbin. I was a little disappointed.

I would like to create a Magazine. I wonder how broad the reach would be. I want the search to be effective beyond my local site.

Experimenting whether this message will reach my account.

When I tried the reverse, I got a Mac notification that I mentioned myself. Nothing appeared as a post, though.

I did get a post in "Notifications" on the side.

A notification displays in Microblogging pane when you tap on the item in the "Notifications" pane. The tap moves the message to the Microblogging pane.

mikeel,

@MikeEL Experimenting. Why does this message not appear as a post? I only get the Mac mention notification .

mikeel,

The message arrived in after a 20 minute delay.

Why Americans love big cars

s not just a consumer choice; itโ€™s a policy choice.

Itโ€™s no secret that big cars dominate American roads. But even so, some of the stats are staggering: Last year, 80 percent of all new cars sold in the US were SUVs and trucks.

Thatโ€™s compared to just 52 percent in 2011. Meanwhile, many automakers are phasing out passenger cars as consumer demand for them has disappeared.

mikeel,

@stux

I'm car-independent . I prefer to ride bikes, especially fast ones. Depends upon your region.

mikeel,

That's funny. I feel like I landed on the moon with good music!

mikeel,

But does the really care? (it rhymes!)

mikeel,

Yes. Joined less than an hour ago.

mikeel,

I do not know what you refer to. I just discovered kbin today. I am trying to understand how kBin works.

mikeel,

Are you referring to the title? has functionality that lacks.
