Zoot006, to fediverse

Following some Lemmy things (idk what to call them, sub-Lemmys?) and the difference of lemmy users and mastodon users is apparent. Wow am I happy I don’t use lemmy. They are getting unfollowed immediately.

@Zoot006 Lookout for the coming groups rework from Mastodon. Once more Mastodon users are using groups, Lemmy culture will almost certainly become more influenced by Mastodon's simply due to the massive size difference.

Groups is currently listed as in-progress on the roadmap.

Took a week off from posting at the community (vacation and all). Well, no one else posted either. The community did grow to 211, but I think I might have to call this one. Oh, well.

@blogoklahoma You may consider revisiting after the groups rework that's currently in progress for Mastodon. It should make following Lemmy communities from Mastodon significantly more useful and will probably change Lemmy culture for the better.

It seems like the hype for is over. The few communities I followed are either abandoned or fed solely by bots.
What a shame. Going back to is not an option either though.

@derthomas I think things will change after the groups update for Mastodon (currently showing as in-progress on the roadmap). At that point I suspect Lemmy will completely supplant guppe and chirp as the go to option for groups in the fediverse and there will be significant culture bleedover from Mastodon. I'm personally very excited for this as I think the average Mastodon user is far more constructive in their posting than the average Reddit user.

Is still a thing? I feel like I don't hear anybody talking about it much anymore. (I mean I know it's a thing, but is it... active? vibrant? a decent reddit replacement?)

It has the same problem that mastodon has... WTF instance should I join?

I tried adjusting some of my lists that included accounts and mastodon freaked out at that. I think I might avoid federating with Lemmy, probably until Mastodon 4.2

@rhett What's coming in 4.2?

I haven't posted there in a few days. No one else is stepping up to post yet either. Disappointing, but will keep it going for now.

@blogoklahoma Remember the 90, 9, 1 rule. 90 percent of users lurk, 9 percent upvote, and only 1 percent post. Best way to build a community is to crosspost! Also have you looked into organizing with other state-centric communities?
