Any serious Tesla investor knew exactly how Q3 numbers would go because the company clearly announced it in the last earnings call. They said they’d shut down factories to retool and prep for Q4.

@major Automakers with traditional dealers count a vehicle sold as soon as it leaves the factory. As long as they can get the dealers to take the inventory, they want to produce as much as they can.
Inventory is at 60 days or so, which isn't particularly high. They also could lower production at any time without a strike.

@serpicojam I love the event, except for those years I worked in Birmingham. Couple of days leading up to the Cruise were straight up miserable on the commute home with pre-Cruisers.
serpicojam, For me, a lot of mixed emotions. I've been to so many dream cruises (for several years we lived right off Woodward and, like you, had to deal with the noise, the smells, the traffic). Today friends and family will be there sending vids and photos with a "wish you were here," etc. It's a celebration of an era that's behind us at a time when it couldn't be clearer that our future is ahead of us. I don't know how else to put it. You wanna hang on but you know you gotta let go?
