Margaret Calvert recently turned 88 years old - along with Jock Kinneir she is the graphic designer responsible for the UK's distinctive #GraphicDesign and #dynamic_typography
of road signs introduced in the 1960s, which is one of the few things this country can still be proud of (the signs are easy to read from a distance even at night).
The font of the gov.uk website is also the same one from the road signs..
So, Danish illustrator and graphic designer Preben Dahlstrøm, a true master of the illustrated field guide in the 1970s: I’m trying to find some biographical information on him – but I have nothing more than that he might have been born in Odense in 1917 and died in the 1990s.
@jhilden It was not him. Unfortunately the National Library does not have microfilms on any of those newspapers which have hits of this name the previous year, 1988. Mostly smaller local publications I guess.
AFAIK there is no Danish equivalent to the Finnish Digital Agency in case you'd like to get hold of the official records (birth, death etc). Instead, you'd first need to know the home community of the person. I'm no expert though.

to the young graphic designers/artists that do home print media. My word of advice... DONT USE THE BAKED IN PRINT OVER NET FEATURE.
Get a cheap thin client from a thrift or e-cycler, dump windows 7 or linux on it and set up print server.
It will save you a billion years of troubleshooting and wanting to throw your expensive printer out the window.

Why do I feel bad asking Adobe for a discount off their exorbitant plan when they have built the poor artist discount into the price anyway and basically count on people forgetting to ask for a discount?
Anyway I grovelled and thanked the Adobe chat person profusely for the half price discount and free months then blamed myself for being a perpetually poor creative who isn't rich, sexy, or famous enough to spend $90 a month on some computer programs.
Everything is working as it should be on capitalist Earth.
I get by on the "Photographers Plan" that includes Photoshop, Lightroom Classic and a few other throw-ins. Using Affinity Designer for vector work and Publisher as my "InDesign-killer".
In case it helps anyone who lost their Pantones due to endless Adobe licence wrangles and who doesn't want yet another subscription, Affinity software still packs them in #graphicDesign
@kevinteljeur it hasn't caught up fully in some areas. But it's surpassed Adobe in many areas. Publisher is new to me and how it handles image boxes is so much better than Adobe. They really need to look at video next, as that has become just another regular job. And they need a pdf handler for prepress checks
I have an animated effect that does what I need - scale from 0 to 100 at the beginning within roughly 1s and add some effects to the clip.
When I apply it to a clip in FCPX, the animation speed changes relative to the clip lenght, meaning a long clip will have very slow animation. How do I prevent this? I have already looked in the manual and YT but haven't found an answer.
