Arch Linux

OSEF. Pas notre problème.

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/linux/-/issues/10#top

TritTriton,
@TritTriton@shelter.moe avatar

https://archive.archlinux.org/

ou plus précisément

https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/

Since replacing my graphics card in March, my arch system crashes on resume 20% of the time. I don't see any obvious cause in the logs, so I finally cracked and posted a discussion thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=296050

asynchronaut, (edited )
@asynchronaut@fosstodon.org avatar

@underlap This is with the old "radeon" driver, right? If so, this unfortunately just happens sometimes. The driver is in maintenance mode (except for the occasional compile fix) and - according to AMD - has "unfixable" design problems. :(

The amdgpu driver for my Zen2 Thinkpad is flawless and reliable.

The old fanless card in my workstation also finally died for good, so I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately there are no up-to-date lowend cards for amdgpu. :(

@asynchronaut Thanks Holger - that's really useful information!

@kernellogger we got some regression reports in the bugtracker popping up now that 6.9.1 was released to our repos!

I'll take care of getting the reports into an actionable state and let the reporters shoot you mails or forward them myself 😊

ohh, yeah, now I understand; but ignore that, that's a very specific case where somebody is quite a bit overeager while at the same time missing the right tactfulness quite a few times.

The ports is accepted and ready to be merged and published: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/rfcs/-/merge_requests/32

Although it was a long journey, I'm happy it is now ratified.
Thanks to everyone who spent time writing and reviewing it and provided valuable feedback!

There is still a lot of work ahead adapting and improving our tooling and I hope many will join in this effort.

Here is to on many more architectures in the future 🥂

(meanwhile I have three more RFCs in the pipeline 😅)

Just installed on my computer. Stupidly forgot to install and before rebooting though so now have no speech. Would any sighted person out there be willing to help me login, connect to the internet, and install what I need over a ? It shouldn't take too long, and I don't want to boot from the again. is great, but I'd prefer help from someone who knows .

RareBird_15,
@RareBird_15@tweesecake.social avatar

Ugh, lol I'm impatient. About to say just forget it and boot from the USB again. I do need to eat, though, so maybe I should go do that and give this post some time.

Yay, I received my :)

Also wrote some PKGBUILDs for those who do not like pipx: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-glasgow-git (Let me know if something doesn't work as I haven't had the chance to test it extensively yet.)

m42uko,
@m42uko@mastodon.social avatar

@whitequark Fixed license, added optional dependencies.

The only amaranth package in Arch right now is the python-amaranth-git package, which will always build the latest version from Git, even if the AUR web frontend reports an older version (it's an Arch thing). So the version this will install (at the time of writing this) is 0.5.0.dev0.r274.gcf07f93. But I'll look into adding a version check into the PKGBUILD.

Thank you for your feedback!

whitequark,
@whitequark@mastodon.social avatar

@m42uko ohh I see, I'm not very familiar with AUR. by the way, the fx2 dependency has a proper versioning/release process, I think it's not necessary to build it from git (although you certainly have the option of doing so)

Gracias

lliones,
@lliones@fosstodon.org avatar

@yoyo308 Gracias yoyo.

Anyone got an idea what could cause irregular lag on an machine on a wired network?
We already ruled out cable, NIC and such stuff and system usage is fine, same with iotop and journalctl. We really are out of ideas.
VoIP tools lag behind (some sentences are send directly, some are only received by participants after up to 3 seconds) as well as games which act like lag spikes but without the latency going ham. Wireshark reports basically no dropped packages. .

HoloISO doesn't work on Virtualbox, also the original image for SteamDeck with SteamOS is not updated since 2022 and run very badly on VBox.
On internet there aren't images prebuilt of #ArchLinux with KDE (updated).
It is difficult to develop for SteamDeck. #steam #linux

I have just released version 0.1.0 of the , a library abstracting the use of the @nitrokey :

https://crates.io/crates/nethsm

Please have a look at the for further information on how to use it:
https://docs.rs/nethsm/0.1.0/nethsm/

The project is a milestone in the creation of a general purpose which we hope can be used for artifact signing purposes on in the future.

It was surprisingly easy!
Most of the desktop tools that I use were included as packages.

I used and reused my dotfiles.

My dotfiles were almost enough. Weirdly didn't like the TOML config file format. Had to use YAML.

Fonts, icons, etc have almost the same names as in Arch. Emoji fonts worked! I honestly didn't expect the emoji fonts working lol

The only thing that I miss is . What is the alternative for NetworkManager?
