ChrisPirillo, I have the pao'er! Yet another 3D printed @Playactiontoys Star Wars action figure toy model was released last week. My weekends have been jammed lately, but I was able to complete Rogue One's Pao in good time - thanks, again, to https://twitch.tv/MakerDeck for helping make making a community thing.

Natanox, Couldn't find any super basic standing 10x15cm picture frames so I'm making my own. Also gives me the excuse to play around with Wood-PLA filament. :blahaj:
Picture in the frame can be found here: https://wallpapersafari.com/w/ZQDWmMGoing to be on my #Printables profile once completed (same as the new Rock Pi 4C+ case I didn't upload yet).

j_holtslander, @ChrisPirillo @Thangs3D Ha! I approve.
GavinCampbell, It has arrived. Just need to find time to assemble this MK4.
#3DPrinting #Prusa
jimmyb, @GavinCampbell Wooo that's going to be fun! 🤩
DrFerrous, Second reservoir done. I think I'll use white for the inner pot. I love how the color transitions turned out with these two!
DrFerrous, @sldrant I haven’t had any issues with water leaking. The walls are fairly thick and I’m not printing fast.
sldrant, @DrFerrous must try some more. Very tempted with the one you did tbh

nervous_jessica, Radiolaria are marine protozoa that build incredibly intricate glass-like skeletons from silica. We are working on an art project generating radiolaria inspired structures and #3dprinting them. Here’s one of our first attempts
Zooming into a 3d model of a radiolarian and then zooming out of a 3d-printed version
ZacBelado, @nervous_jessica Are you able to use those prints to build moulds for metal casting?
nervous_jesse, @ZacBelado @nervous_jessica not these exact prints but theoretically we could print them in wax resin for casting. Might need a lot of sprues for all the spines though

ryan, what is the traditional "hello world" of #3dprinting?
Sablebadger, @ryan calibration cube. Then benchy.
masukomi, @Sablebadger @ryan most folks go directly to Benchy in my observations
ryan, Finally diving into #3dprinting!
Picked up a Bambu Lab P1S and excited to throw myself into the rabbit hole
If you have any lesser-known resources or have a project you're really proud of, I want to see it!
MIfoodie, @ryan A nice thing is @3dprinting who will boost #3dprinting posts. This is usually used for questions so people can answer them
Mawoka, I don't have enough time to keep up with all my projects: #3dprinting, #coding, #ClassQuiz, #smarthome, #school, #gaming and #tabletennis. I'd really appreciate having a helping hand regarding @classquiz who can take on some small(ish) issues I've been aware of for months, but at the time, I am focused on other projects (also in the regard of coding): There's @homeassistant and #FediPrint.
Mawoka, So, if anyone would be interested, I am here to help and would really appreciate some help for ClassQuiz. It has also gotten way more popular than I've ever expected: I am averaging at ~7k unique visitors per month on classquiz.de alone. There are people everywhere contacting me (okay not everywhere, but I'd say it's 5 per week on average). I mean, all are friendly, but that all takes time. But I also can't just turn them down. I just can't, as it's also a great feeling helping those people.
Mawoka, Now, I wanted to ask: Anyone out there interested in assisting me with #ClassQuiz? Preferrably in bug fixes, dependency updates, etc or just in assisting with communication?
pbl0m, German From the category: "Is that normal?"
I got my first spool prusament PLA and recognized some interesting behavior. After each print, I have to pull out the filament and snip off 7-8 mm of material cause it inflates during the cool down of the printer inside the extruder.
I know that silk PLA inflates but only outside the nozzle.I thought about heatkreep but this would also happen during the print which does not happen in my case🤔
This only happens with prusament, all others don't🤷
KCDOZ, If you scroll Mastodon often enough, you'll find plenty of detailed examples of "the banality of evil."
But I think this may have topped them all.
Someone created a #3DPrinting of #LEGO bricks made with tiny spikes, so they're extra painful to step on.
Natanox, Some recommendations for really beautiful picture frames (standard photo size) for #3DPrinting? Want to make one or two for my grandma. 🙂
Don't mind if the model costs 2-3 bucks as long as it's well made.
jerzone, Today’s quick 3d print of a “pill placer" for our old dog. Big enough for the capsules he has to take 3x a day and hopefully more accurate and less intrusive than my fingers, with less chance of a munched finger.
slicer preview of the printed parts showing where 4mm rod goes through and connects
jerzone, Wife wanted the ability to take unit apart for cleaning, which first design wasn't well suited for. This one is just two parts, super easy to print and assemble. I need to make the ring a bit bigger and then I'll post it to Printables.

manyfold, Manyfold v0.67.0 is out, and introduces optional anonymous usage tracking so that we know many instances there are. This will be really useful to us, so please turn it on if you can! We're excited to see how many of you are out there! ❤️
We've made the system as private and transparent as we possibly can, including a custom super-forgetful data API. There's a breakdown of how it all works at https://manyfold.app/sysadmin/tracking.html.
manyfold, The next release of Manyfold will include OPTIONAL anonymous usage tracking, purely so that we can count how many people are running it.
This is OFF BY DEFAULT, and all the information that's sent and stored is shown in the UI before you turn it on. We've tried to be as minimal, clear and up-front as possible.
Feedback welcome at https://github.com/manyfold3d/manyfold/pull/2183 if you have any thoughts.
timixretroplays, #Plasbeams photo box update: yeah, this didn't work quite as hoped. At over 2.5kg, this thing has a will of its own, and enough weight to pull the bearing hinge assemblies apart and turn the whole thing into an uncooperative plastic octopus.
I think with anchors that slide over the hinges at full extension, and a careful order of operations, this can still be assembled; more likely I will need to swap the hinges for static brackets, and find another method for breakdown and storage. #3DPrinting
timixretroplays, Bonus extra photo of my executive assistant. #CatsOfMastodon
jake4480, @timixretroplays a quality assistant. 😻

tylermumford, Well, I've dived into a new hobby again. #3DPrinting !
I got myself a Bambu Lab A1 mini, and I am having so much freaking fun.
leroy, @tylermumford just regular Bambu Basic PLA. Which apparently is fine (for indoor pots). BUT I’m still going to paint/seal it partly for aesthetics and partly because of the design of the pot.
For pushing the 0.2mm nozzle, here is an example of some miniatures and terrain I printed (and painted) https://indiehackers.social/@leroy/112405967643435996
tylermumford, @leroy Wow, very nice work!
ChrisPirillo, Are you shore this Star Wars imperial trooper was 3D printed? Yes, I am. The model was just released by @Playactiontoys. Printed live on https://twitch.tv/MakerDeck & https://twitch.tv/ChrisPirillo :)
Playactiontoys, @ChrisPirillo Amazing location!
ChrisPirillo, @Playactiontoys I'm lucky to live across the street from a rock "park." Some scenes may start looking familiar.
thomastospace, (edited ) What program does everyone use to create models for #3Dprinting ?
I've used Fusion360 before, but the current free '10 model' limit is just weird to me and I prefer to save my files locally by default.
pierstoval, @thomastospace I only do super small and simple pieces, and for that, OpenSCAD is fine (and open source)
tylermumford, @thomastospace I'm really new to this, but I'm using both Onshape and TinkerCAD. Onshape is nice for precision and how my brain thinks by default. TinkerCAD is fun for experimentation and playing. Some serious design, too.
koz, For those of you looking for FDM-printable miniatures, this creator is one to keep an eye on. Only two designs at the moment, but plans are there for more: https://cults3d.com/en/users/rifledoctor0907/3d-models
@jamie - this seems relevant to your interests.
fmartingr, I think I have a thermal issue on my Octoprint Raspberry Pi.
37deg in the enclosure
65deg the raspberry pi SoC(celsius)
RL_Dane, You're not supposed to mount the RPI directly on the heated build plate. 😆
But in all seriousness, 65ⁿ C isn't half bad for a CPU/SOC.
adorfer, German Photo aus der unfreiwilligen Spülschwamm-Produktion.
In diesem Fall ist mir nach wie vor völlig unklar, was der Auslöser war.
