We did our best, and even though @devonblack did not win the nomination for the NDP candidacy for Saanich-Gulf Islands, we have learned a lot and will be ready for the challenges ahead.

@trishalynn I need to know because I'm strongly ANTI- #BCNDP - John Horgan & then Eby shady undemocratic kingmaking was my LAST STRAW! I need you to be honest - here, about this. Several of us won't ever support BC NDP ever again - for more than a few solid reasons. I'm very upfront on where & why I stand.

@trishalynn @devonblack This is gross too. BC NDP is responsible for killing my Dad.

BC NDP approved more clearcuts under shorter timespan than BC Liberals & I hated BC Libs.

Why are you pimping more colonialism destruction???

datum,

@Brad @PacificNic @subjacentish Early in this pandemic I started filtering sources for credibility.

Every person making claims that had already been clearly demonstrated false was culled.

(In non-covid-aware groups this is where I normally delve into the Skagit Valley Choir results and how early we had astronomically strong evidence that , and sometimes it devolves into )

Folks who publicly adjusted their beliefs in the face of new data got a credibility bump - a big one if their initial belief had been qualified as "x suggests y" or "I believe z" or whatever.

Folks who made inductive or deductive predictions which proved right also got a bump.

AJ eventually floated to the very top. His naive t-cell depletion prediction stands out but as you say he's been right many times, and his expert explanations of technical results - and sometimes of the expected consequences - are extraordinary. If knowledge is power, he did his best to empower the rest of humanity by sharing his remarkable knowledge and logic.

(Often enough it took me an hour+ of further reading to have some vague idea of what he meant, very slightly alleviated by the AJ translator "bot.")

As you say, a brilliant human, and also a shining example of compassion and care for the well-being of strangers, though he doesn't suffer fools.

A hero of our times.

says about one in nine adults have had long-term symptoms from infection.

Report released today says that amounts to 3.5 million Canadians.

Symptoms are defined as long-term if they persist for 3 months or longer after a COVID-19 infection & can’t be explained by anything else.

Almost 80% of people with long-term symptoms have them for 6 months or more.

A similar story came from a Stage 4 cancer patient who told CityNews she was on one of more than a dozen stretchers that lined the hall..

6 more people I know in have tested positive for in the past week.

This photo's from a friend who tested positive yesterday. She works in a grocery store & wore masks but there's no mandatory masking in the store. She told me she had a cold a few days ago. I advised her to take 2 covid tests; grateful she was open to doing that. A couple of other friends aren't testing at all, despite having symptoms. I can't be around them.

This friend is & it took her a long time to find FT work with compassionate employer. She's been worried about getting it but she doesn't have control over public health policies & stores have hard time trying to enforce masking when isn't making it mandatory.
Ppl are worried about not being able to pay bills if they refuse to work in environments.
needs to & make them mandatory again in indoor public environments.

Another year of turning down multiple Halloween party invites because they're unsafe for me to be around people not wearing safe n95 masks. We will be doing same declining of party invites come December & January too. The socializing opportunities aren't worth getting covid.

My friend, who is an & had worked out of 3 different hospitals has been infected with covid. She's now very sick & unable to work for quite some time. She's never stopped masking at work or outside of work. She's been vaccinated.

I blame her preventable illness on & especially & - shouldn't have ever been lifted.

Unlike the majority of citizens, selfish politicians who promote & enact unsafe public health policies that bring great harms to the general public, can afford plenty of private medical care services & avoid a lot of suffering because they're very privileged.

They don't care if more citizens die or become disabled or go bankrupt or homeless from being unable to access/afford essential medical care, prescriptions & medical supplies. They don't suffer like many citizens have.

solution for disabled, elderly & immunocompromised citizens who are suffering too much - We'll help you kill yourself!

Instead of actually helping citizens not suffer so much by their own immoral & harmful policies.

Our Chief Public Health Officer is perfectly fine with knowingly spreading disease, disability and death among kids and staff

Think about that
