Does anyone else maintain #changelog (s) for their #computer (s)?
I enter all configuration adjustments and #update (s) in a #markdown file for each machine.
This might seem like unnecessary extra work, but has paid off several times for the sake of traceability or #reproducibility in the past. 🤓 #musicproduction#linuxaudio
44100 Hz or 48000 Hz for #musicproduction?
Personally I usually go with 48000 Hz because it somehow feels more "natural" to me than 44100 Hz (as half of 96000 Hz or a quarter of 192000 Hz). Made my life easier a few times when I wanted to #compose#music for #movies too. #daw#linuxaudio
Does anyone else use the Dual Display (Arranger/Mixer) setting in #bitwig on a single monitor from time to time? I find it nice to have the mixer and device chain always visible (and context sensitive) while working on an arrangement, and to have the latter always visible as well. On a big enough screen at least, this can be a very comfortable approach for me. #mixing#daw#musicmaking#linuxaudio
Want to start a solo podcast about making art in general and electronic music production specifically.
I want to talk about the mindset / metacognitive aspects of making art because this stuff doesn't get talked about enough. I also want to talk about what it's been like moving my entire music production setup to Linux, as well as thoughts on various DAWs, synths, etc.
My hope is that posting about this will give me a little pressure to get going. Details forthcoming.
One of the #bitwig 5.2 #feature (s) I am looking forward too:
"Mouseless navigation is a breeze in Bitwig Studio 5.2. With Bitwig’s default key commands, your arrow keys can now send you between relevant points of interest in clips or on the Arranger Timeline, or even between different tracks in your project." #linuxaudio#update
