@PlaneSailingGames I moved from dot social to mstdn.games. It was pretty smooth. Everything comes along for the ride EXCEPT messages. Old profile changes into a redirect. But you do have to re-post stuff or start fresh.
You also have to wait for followers’ software to see that you’ve moved before they follow the new account.
In case something goes wrong (it didn’t for me), it’s a decent idea to back up everything.
If u don't know the extent of the horrible things done to Black Americans in this country, please kindly step your a$s off your soapbox and don't lecture people about what we aren't or haven't gone through in comparison to other groups.
Some idiot at #twitter (I'm never unsarcastically calling it "x") had the audacity to claim they don't see p0lice dropping b0mbs on Black ppl.
Part 2: After the mooooove... Here's how Holly Cow and Minnie Cow did after my "MOOOOOVE" to Montana. 29 year old Holly Cow and Minnie Cow must be protected at all costs! (4/4)
Question to the #Mastodon experts - recently moved my followers to another account but realise now that I actually would like to keep using the old (this account here) account as my main Mastodon account. Can I simply move back? Are there any time-limits or any other downsides (aside from slightly annoying my followers)…? #mastohelp#fedihelp#mastodonhelp#fediverse#account#move
🆕 blog! “Fediverse Account Portability And Blocking”
One of the many great things about the Fediverse (Mastodon, PixelFed, Lemmy, etc) is that your account is portable. Let's say you're bob@social.boring and, one day, you decide to move your account to foxyfun@furryextreme.yif. Well, with a few clicks of a button, all of your old followers are now following your brand new ac…

Thanks for that link. The documentation describes the move from one #Mastodon instance to another #instance (call it a Mastodon-internal #move). But does this work as described there also across the borders of the different #Fediverse services?
I know. unCW'd Rant inbound, but this has important information about the status of Kitsu. Mastodon.social users are encouraged to read, if you follow a user on KitsuClub or KitsuGay.
Kitsu will soon be Defederating from Mastodon.social, as a large wave of spambots began to attack users from the official instance.
This will be one of the last few messages from Kitsu that will arrive at Mastodon.social; considering that the full platform has swelled beyond moderability, and the choices that they have made on their apps to obscure joining a different server - essentially hiding the choice to pick you own server - I feel it's in our best interest to finally pull the plug.
If you've known me for any amount of time, you know how much I despise Mastodon. It's underbaked, underperformant, and overappreciated. If you want to continue to receive messages from our users, then you can register for KitsuClub or KitsuGay, or take a peek at the resources that I've listed.
This isn't to say that we will be banning all Mastodon instances! The other fediverse instances are welcome to stay for a while and have tea with our community. We will only be defederating from Mastodon.social, not the entirety of Mastodon.
Broadcom yanks ESXi Free version, effective immediately (kb.vmware.com)
I’d expected this but it still sucks.
is it possible to import my posts and followers from 1 mastodon instance to another?
Or do I need to start fresh?
Is not that god damn hard. (lemmy.ml)
Somebody set up us the bomb
Migrating an account from an instance to another?
I know it's possible for Mastodon, so is this in the roadmap for kbin? Or could it be done already with other software?
