California's Santa Cruz County is developing a public transit system worthy of its notorious natural beauty. We're excited to be a part of it. The next improvements are coming in December. #SantaCruz#publictransit
Rode from #SantaCruz to #PigeonPoint yesterday morning, about a 50 mile round trip. Perhaps not the most prudent thing to do, given that I’m doing a trail half marathon with nearly 4,000 feet of climbing next Saturday. Ah well, keep going until you can’t, right?
At one time, I was trying to collect at least one painting from every coastal county in California. Matt Beard's pricing structure takes into account the number of miles he travels from home, the type of accommodations, and even if he encounters ticks or poison oak.
It's complicated.
So the further south the scene generally the more expensive. The SoCal pieces were the hardest for me to fill in.
This piece is named Escaping Santa Cruz Crowds: circa 1880.
It would have covered Santa Cruz County, but it didn't because it isn't mine. #MattBeard
@NorcalGma2 Love it! Based on the title and my memory of the coastline, it probably shows a view from Highway 1 north of #SantaCruz where a fruit and honey vendor sets up shop by the side of the road. He puts out a hand-painted sign that reads “sweet cherries”. 😁
Great privilege to visit the Centre for #AgroEcology in #SantaCruz earlier this week, and learn about all its great work over the last few decades, from #AlanChadwick first start-up to today’s real commitment to providing #FoodSecurity for #UCSC students as well as employment and education work with local schools. Also really good discussion around #IndigenousKnowledge#SettlerColonialism in the context of AgroEcology. Thank you!
Just had to tell my visiting relatives to bring raincoats & jackets to visit #SantaCruz in August-September, traditionally the hottest & driest months of the year.
Veggie breakfast burrito from Cat & Cloud (delicious!)
Julio’s Burrito with tofu and vegetables from Little Tampico for lunch.
Burrito salad for dinner. This is @Heather ‘s invention: an Amy’s bean and cheese burrito on a bed of lettuce with Tapatio and fat-free ranch dressing. Feels healthy ‘cause lettuce. Definitely filling.
I formally apologize to future me who will be dealing with the consequences.
Ok, no burrito ice cream for dessert, but look what Marianne’s is making today: #Otter841 flavor! Cinnamon caramel with snickerdoodle dough chunks. Pairs great with chocolate fudge!
