Currently, I'd like to move to another country for a few months; but I'm unsure where.
I'd enjoy a place that is into socializing with the locals, relatively walkable, and isn't so full of people primed to 'talk at you' for 2 hours straight about personal gripes & politics lol.

@HederaVulpes@knitting A dishcloth is a great idea. A hat could also work, but I'd go with a hat that is a rectangle and then sewn up. You can make a fun hat out of two garter stitch squares sewn together (add tassels to the corners for some more fun).

Okay friends of the #Fediverse, I'm needing some help with rebranding my site. I'm moving to a more tech themed one and needing some naming suggestions.
Right now it is Code and Coffee. While I will still write about code occasionally, it will focus more on IT.
So, here's where I am right now. I'm Freelance... I get plenty of design work and appear to be at least somewhat successful. I can't however get a full or part time contract anywhere... no matter what I try.
Can anyone smarter than me help me out with thoughts, suggestions or career advice?
I need some stability in my income, as currently, I'm working to cover a frankly disastrous summer's worth of income.
@andycarolan Any local business groups where you could put in an appearance? When I had a bit of a sales role I found that to be best - just finding local people in businesses who meet regularly for breakfasts or similar and just networking.
@andycarolan Sell pre-paid buckets of hours with a minimum. And/or only work on retainer. Full time positions cost organizations far more than salary. Sub-contractors are attractive because it costs the organization far less and is a less complex relationship. You can help even out your revenue peaks and valleys by either of the above two models without adding the relationship complexity with the customer.
Good suggestion! I’ve listened to them all (well, I don’t think the series is done, but all that have been released). It starts off with a basic premise and then just keeps multiplying and multiplying on top of that until things get wild. I don’t think it is too spoilery to say that my favorite parts are the examinations of other civilizations, societies, and cultures.
@brian@ludibriumventis agreed! The 4th book was my least favorite but they were all good. And the narrator is amazing. He really did a good job narrating the story which enhances the experience of listening to it vs. just reading it.
Okay #retrogaming - I got Kodi set up on my #nvidia#shieldtv with the internet archive game launcher... and I just re-re-remembered that my beloved #steamcontroller won't work with it... I have no idea why I keep forgetting this.

Ha ha, to each their own, for me it was one of the worst controllers I’ve ever used, and using the SC reminded me a lot of it and I also never could get comfortable with the trackpads regardless of how much I tried to force myself to use it in different genres of games. I’m glad you enjoyed them though! Maybe look for a larger controller if there more comfortable to you while you’re on your hunt.
