The Mau Escarpment is a fault scarp running along the western edge of the Great Rift Valley. The top of the escarpment reaches approximately 3000 m (10,000 ft) above sea level, and is over 1000 m higher than the floor of the Rift Valley.

The Cité de Carcassonne is a medieval citadel located in the French city of Carcassonne. It is situated on a hill and dominates the banks of the River Aude.
With its castle and ramparts, the city seems straight out of a medieval fantasy novel.
JR East cut over half of its ticket service counters for train and shinkansen tickets as a cost-cutting strategy. All it achieved was angering its customers with its shoddy online services. Now, company reps say they're putting the brakes on future closures.
I shot this photo from a very shaky 4-wheel drive vehicle on a bumpy dirt track, so I made sure to have the fastest shutter speed by using my ƒ/1.2 lens…
Why yes I am having a great time. I’ve had many memorable moments, made new friends and met some interesting people along the way. However the Pyramids of Giza was a particular highlight for me. One of my favourite photos I’ve taken on this trip is this one whilst riding a camel. I have no idea how it turned out like this. #Travel#Egypt#Giza
Meet the People Who Keep Vintage Rail Cars Rolling Across America
About two dozen classic carriages around the country offer time travel by train. by Justin Franz July 6, 2023
"...In the 20th century, especially ...after World War II, rail was not only one of the most logical ways to get around the country...it could also be one of the most exquisite. That golden age of luxury rail travel was brief. As the interstate highway system expanded & commercial air travel took off, passenger rail service began to decline in general, and luxury forms were among the first casualties..."
I was feeling like I'd probably over-packed, but we've been in transit since Wednesday night, it's Friday morning and I'm in an airport hotel instead of my final destination and we still don't have a clear path to make it all the way there. Crew timeout, broken plane, hurricanes, car rental snafus. 😮💨
I've used probably 90% of what I packed and most of the surprise kid entertainment has been a hit. 🩵
Here's hoping we actually make it to his grandparents today, though!
I’ve just realised I’ve been in a different country every Friday for the past six weeks. Starting with UAE (because I got stranded in Dubai) I eventually made it to Türkiye, followed by Greece, Italy and Egypt. I’m now back in Thailand having some post-holiday R&R. Nice to not be moving on every 3-4 days. Next Friday I’ll be back in Australia. #Travel
