Stormlight, Battletech (before the Mercenaries kickstarter arrives), Robotech, some random samurai minis that will be joined by others eventually, and some Gundam Artifact.
My second #gunpla was the beginner grade RX-78-2. This was a fun, quick one to put together and I want to go for a higher grade for this model eventually.
I didn't grow up with Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z. I stopped having cable at home in the early 90s. So, my first real experience with Dragon Ball Z was in college. I had a roommate who would watch subtitled episodes late at night really loud, which annoyed me. I avoided the franchise for that reason for a long while.
In 2019, I picked up a copy of Dragon Ball FighterZ because of how highly it was rated. I fell in love with it immediately. Such an amazing fighting game. In December, Viz's Shonen Jump service dropped and allowed you access to their full archive of manga for certain series. Dragon Ball was among them. I decided to read the manga to get the backstory of these characters. I became enthralled and within three months had read all of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super.
Since then, I have plowed through so much manga from Akira Toriyama. From Cowa to Sandland to a ton of stuff in between. His influence on the anime and manga industry will be felt for generations to come.
Here's a picture of a few of the Bandai model kits I have of Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms.
Rest in Peace, Toriyama. Thank you for all you have given us over the years. May your family and fans be comforted following your passing.
I finally got around to building my Rowlet model kit!
This little guy is just too cute. I took a few pics in front of my Pokémon Sun / Moon manga before bringing the little guy into the office to hang out with my Eevee model kit.
I love these little kits and can't wait to find more of them!
A little not-strictly-Gundam gunpla as a palate cleanser after that slog (a fun slog! A slog nonetheless) of the Ver.Ka Zeta. When I was a young human, growing up in a place where stuff like anime was largely inaccessible, I had a mild obsession with Aura Battler Dunbine - one of my prize finds as a kiddo was a red plastic and die cast dunbine bug-mecha in the clearance section of the Toys-R-Us. So when I saw this critter on P Bandai all that came rushing back.
Now that my #gundam models are closer to double digits than zero, I can’t just keep leaving them on my bookshelf. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do with them? I’m thinking some kind of shelf. Only problem is my apartment is very small, AND I share it.
Well hello fellow mastodians it's been a bit since I've been here and all so a new #introduction I suppose is in order...
I am many things, I #stream over on @MagicNinjaRobot I am currently working on a story with my wife @IliDraws called "The Dominant Ones" which were hoping to release next march. Also, I work in a paint store to pay the bills and sit there and read #comicbooks to kill time. also build a #gunpla and collect toys. So that's me, thanks for reading #writing#gaming#toys
I've built my first ever SD, Cao Cao from Three Kingdoms as a Wing Gundam! Nifty little guy. Painted him too. The last pic is him and Cao Cao Ultraman (gifted by a friend) defending my Three Kingdoms books lol #Gunpla#ThreeKingdoms
