People often think of California as nothing but desert. Let me change your mind. If that is true, than this is what the desert looks like after a rainy winter. This is a California wildflower super bloom at sunrise. Poppies & wildflowers as far as I could see covering this hills. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

bittersweetdb,

@HistoPol @JulieNye I’m not who you @-ed, but I live in the California desert. If you search for images, you will find comparable landscapes. Anza-Borrego is a largely desert park that blooms like that after a wet winter. I live a few hours away from Anza Borrego, near Joshua Tree National Park, and we are carpeted with flowers occasionally, too. I don’t have any good pics of my own to share, sorry!

Poppies for taken in the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve, spring of 2019. I love that there were a few yellow ones among a sea of orange.

near in looking like a painting now the uncut meadows are in full bloom. Two years into a one hundred year landscape regeneration project, the transformation in this short time is breathtaking. If you can visit, it’s currently a. bit like a desert in

The California poppies won't last too much longer. If you haven't had the chance to see them you better hurry. If You can't make it then you can always look at mine. Kissed by the dawn.

California Superbloom all over the hills during my ride today. Sadly is mostly Black Mustard, but these cool purple flowers were popping through in one of the trails.

Easy ride today, just 3.5 miles and 417 feet of climbing. Great to be outdoors.

An endless hillside of bright yellow flowers dominates the foreground. It is primarily Black Mustard, brought here by Spanish settlers. Trees on hills in the distance form the background. The sky is overcast.

In the desert even the cactus benefit from all of the rains this year in California. Barrel cactus Super Bloom with a beautiful wreath of cactus flowers. Exquisite. I liked barrel cactus before and then I saw they can do this too! Enjoy!
