It occurred to me that for various reasons the GPS network we rely on to find out way around these days could fail. If this were to happen, and depending on a lot of other factors, printed maps—on paper or other materials—could become quite valuable. To those who can read them, at least. Do you have any printed maps? Road map? Topo map?

When was the last time you used a printed map?

I always carry paper maps and use them regularly.

It is crazy that I've asked locals for directions when the maps are not accurate and they cannot help. They do not know north from south or how to hold their phone to aim you in the correct direction.

My LightPhone has:
No apps.
No camera
No internet
No Wifi,
No automobile warranty calls
No political calls
No upgrades
No spying (nothing worth spying)

I think this is the first time I've heard the original album version of "No Woman No Cry" (most folks think of the live version: much slower, church-y organ, lots more backup vocals).

While the more familiar version is, of course, great in its way, I really like this version!

MUCH more up-tempo & is that actually a drum machine? 😂

I was in a metal band in the 80s.
We were kids 18-19 years old.
But, the drummer's dad always had their house filled with Bob Marley.
So, I don't get the ganja/dread/heavy-ness of the music that many kids associated at the time. All I got was a house filled with joyful spirit.

Thanks for reminding me of a great time and people of my past.

    I believe (sadly) that people will get caught up in the AI novelty (like fast food)...
    and forget they have brains...
    and get lazy...
    and let AI do everything for them.

    They (?) want to know EVERYTHING about "their" consumer.
    Once they "know" all your friends, They will easily find locations and activities that will satisfy all parties... INCLUDING themselves for monetization.

    When I look around at the general public, I realize just how big and soon the battle against Skynet will be 😬

    I worked for a medical facility in the early 1990s. There was an IT guy there named ... funniest person ever. On the side, he produced and performed comedy shows.

    He was looking for some new talent to open some shows. So, with no experience, I jumped into stand-up comedy. I had a lot of fun and mostly confused the audience.

    Barry was looking for a theme for the next show. we laughed so hard about the comedian's pictures on the bill looking like road kill...

    Favourite & actual are the same...
    🥞 Pancakes, 🧇 Waffles, AND/or 🍞 French toast at least 5 days a week.
    I go though 1.5 gallons of 🍁 Vermont maple syrup a month, 3-lbs of 🧈 butter & 3-doz 🥚 eggs a week.
    I love big breakfasts ! 🍽️

    ☕ Coffee puts me to sleep. I drink lots in the evening.
