PSVR 2 PC adapter coming August 7 - will enable access to Steam's VR library from PlayStation's headset

@jake4480 without eye tracking or any of the other features that make it compelling.

Do not buy this until Sony releases real drivers or the hackers work out how to make it function properly.

It looks like the only real option for a fully functional DEX (and other things) dock is a Lenovo Tab Extreme eh?

Well, I'm gonna find out!

I hear it has actual video in so it can be a travel monitor, passes the keyboard/trackpad and touchscreen properly to the USBC input too.

I tried the Dopesplay things but the pixel density sux.

I may sell my Tab s6 LTE and Zeph G14 and move all of my travel work to the ROG Ally.

Less stuff, same or better functionality...

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

Well, that was quick.

The keyboard and mouse on the dock don't pass thru to the usbc dock connection.

Back in the box, for what looks like the fifth time according to the "inspected" tape being layers thick.

8 days later the #homelab has some 22T temp disks running my 55T of "stuff" while the 15 8T's get a full scan. Once that's done the zfs pool will be re-created with better parity and a hot spare.

Thank goodness for ddrescue tho. Thought I lost it all there for a few days.

Amazon Prime now comes with free Grubhub food delivery

Amazon now offers restaurant food delivery. And if you pay for Amazon Prime, the delivery part is free.

Amazon says the ordering experience is “identical” to ordering from Grubhub’s website or app and is accessible to all customers, even without Prime.

https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/30/24167678/amazon-prime-grubhub-plus-free-food-delivery

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

@gtbarry Give it a month, grubhub will be used only by prime users because the fees are being passed on the the restaurant and they have to set the prices 20% higher to absorb those fees.

Just like every restaurant's menu is already 20-40% higher priced online because they get shafted by all the delivery services.

Democrats “must do all they can to make sure that voters know about this conviction, and, importantly, that Republican lawmakers … lined up like little robots to savage the justice system, all to put Trump above accountability and the law,” Greg Sargent writes👇🏽https://newrepublic.com/article/182111/trump-guilty-verdict-hush-money-shatters-aura-invincibility

We've take a few baby steps towards justice.

"The system held" is a huge overstatement at this point.

My wife just discovered entirely by accident that there's a new government thing businesses have to register with: https://www.fincen.gov/news/news-releases/us-beneficial-ownership-information-registry-now-accepting-reports

Seems to apply even to tiny businesses that make no money selling books such as https://www.skaeth.com. 😛

Looks like if you have a corp or LLC you're going to have to register for it before the end of the year and there's fines or something if you don't?

Kind of ridiculous she only discovered it by accident. Shouldn't they have at least mailed something?

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

@Eggfreckles @bigzaphod it is, but the new proof is tying a gov issue ID to the company.

Looks like we're finally going to be using databases to unravel the owners of these shell companies and tax dodgers.

I bet Delaware's registered businesses drops by 99% in the next few years, as that's where the shell games are all played.

@GottaLaff separation of powers means that if he doesn't cooperate and his corruption knows no bounds, which is the case, the only recourse is impeachment.

And at this point I'd say he did it to himself.

TBH I wouldn't trust the supreme court again until/unless all of the judges who were appointed by corrupt administrations have stepped down or been investigated for bribery and undue influence and been impeached.

It's past time to clean house.

From eating rocks to putting glue on pizza, Google’s AI Overviews has given us a good laugh and plenty of memes over the past week, thanks to the many hilariously inaccurate answers it has given to several search queries.

However, these clearly wrong answers are not the problem we should be focusing on, argues @FastCompany. “It’s the errors that don’t call attention to their ridiculous selves that could do the most damage to Google Search and everyone who relies on it.” Here’s more.

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

@TechDesk @FastCompany Google search has been dead and unusable for a couple of years.

Not unexpected when they pivoted away from caring about the user experience and towards maximizing billable ad views in search.

The current enshitification cycle really only became blatant when we lost the ability to search the web, pretty much entirely.
