Running while on holiday in a foreign country. It is clear that they are not welcoming anyone on their trails.
And if you run through the forest, they expect you to shout while doing it as it says on the last image.

Today was 1km of walking, followed by 5km of #running, not particularly fast, but got it done. Have to look for some good inner-thigh stretches (look! new pain!). <sighs> The new shoes are really comfortable, so that's great. I need to make a list of what clothing is appropriate for each temperature, as I over dressed this morning (11°C); certainly didn't need the hoodie once I warmed up.

1) Sunrise casting rays of light onto the grass through the trees with a pinkish sky slightly visible. 2) Orange sunrise over the Rideau River, with trees on the east shore, and the sun and sky reflecting in the still water. 3) View of the pedestrian walkway on one of the spans of the Minto Bridge. 4) Sunrise over the Adawe Crossing over the Rideau River from Strathcona Park with the sun reflecting in the water.

Hiking today. Climbing in 4 hours 1500m to reach the top station of the gondola. Would have taken us maybe 15m with it. That is what you face when hiking through a skiing area. It was nice nevertheless.

Wandern. Stiegen in 4 Stunden 1500m hoch und kamen bei der Bergstation der Gondel an. Damit hätte es wohl 15min gedauert. So geht es, wenn man im Skigebiet wandert. Doch schön wars.

Was a good hike / trailrun today. No GPS record, guess it was about 35 km. The tricky part was the altitude. Start at 797m, 1st pass 2612m, down to 1488m, 2nd pass at 2778, finish at 1170.

Guter Lauf heute. Keine GPS Aufzeichnung, doch schätzungsweise 35km. Das knifflige waren die Höhenmeter: von 797m rauf auf 2612m, runter auf 1488m und wieder hoch auf 2778, Schluss auf 1170m.

The child seated in front of us in this airplane is named “Boomer” and he deserves it. His sisters are Lesley and Georgia. They have screamed, shrieked, bellowed, hollered, wept, gnashed their teeth, dropped toys, and thrown fits when they wanted lemonade which was not available.

The insanity was unbelievable and I blame the parents. The dad sat across the aisle, disconnected, while the mom had Boomer & Lesley to deal with plus little Georgia in her lap.

It was a total shit show.

We went on a daytrip to Lake Oeschinen today.
It's a mountain lake fed by surrounding mountains and glaciers. We rented a rowing boat for an hour.
Its turquoise blue water is really breathtakingly beautiful.😍

I once went on a cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki and they had this weird “New York City” theme featuring a white man in one of those trashy Lollapalooza-style dreadlock hats perpetrating as a Jamaican cab driver riding around in a fake taxi pedi-cab and a gift shop full of whatever they thought had to do with NYC which was apparently toy handcuffs and Mickey Mouse ears and a LOT of American flags and a menu that was centered around what they think people in NYC eat.

Gift shop items with a very misguided interpretation of NYC-themed items, such as toy handcuffs, Mickey Mouse ears, and a LOT of American flags.
Menu with a “Harlem Meat Feast Plate” featuring Oriental Baby Back Ribs, Grilled Steak, Coleslaw, French Fries and Onion Rings because that’s apparently all that the people in Harlem eat.
