Both ends open up to 90⁰ and the main body expands and contracts about a centimetre.

A clever person has said that the object in the right is a Writescope telescoping mechanical pencil. Thanks!

@KarenDorman @sewing Without knowing the exact size, I'm going with money clip on the one. Fold your bills in half and flip the top and bottom down to hold the bills. And on the front there is the pocket clip.

Was Tucker Carlson paid by Vladimir Putin or mega MAGA donors to do a hatchet job on America....or both?

Putin put pressure on America's politicians to keep the US aid to Ukraine blocked.

Wealthy MAGA donors will do anything possible to destroy America and cement a win for their boy Trump in November.

There were so many backstories to go with Carlson's two-hour Putin interview that it makes one's head spin.

Proofreading tip from my former life as a senior engineer then department head. Read your documents in a different form than you prepared them. If you print, print a copy and read before distribution, read it at the printer! If you are paperless, read the document after generating the pdf (or whatever). If all fails, put it away and re-read after lunch/the next day.

The different form helps you see stuff you missed in libre office/word/spreadsheet.

@europlus @rcriii I often walk away for a day from what I've written, at minimum. I can still feel when that's not enough for something important. I adore my friends that are willing to act as a second set of eyes. I often return the favor.

On a recent international flight the mask-wearing percentage was visibly higher than on other flights in the past year or so.

At least half of the flight attendants were masked, which was also a change.

People are starting to understand:

a) Covid is not remotely done with us, and it really sucks to get it.

b) Masks also block flu transmission.

c) Wearing a mask is a sign of care for others, not just one's self.

This is the >110 year old 16v transformer that powered the doorbell in my house. It works fine. Pushes out a consistent 16.3v. Had to replace it with a new 24v transformer for my video doorbell. It lasted 14 months and took out the camera with it when it blew.
