I found yesterday that hundreds of 2D Artist Magazine where uploaded to the Internet Archive, and I really enjoy browsing them for the quality tutorials, interviews and amazing artist portfolios. I thought some of you here might like it as well:

darekpages,

@davidrevoy Thanks!!! Thats inspiring! I also liked Computer Arts when it used to be published on paper.

@darekpages Oh yes! Computer Art was great. I also remember the Blender Foundation had a subscription to 3D World while I we were working on the open movies Sintel. It was great to browse it during the breaks. It was also a blast to discover Sintel on the cover later https://durian.blender.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/3dworldcover.png

Twarda,

New painting in progress! But I snoozed off in the train on my way home so I didn't finish😅

@Twarda Crazy! I presume there's no pressure sensitivity?

Twarda,

@john There is no pressure on 3DS, yes.
The dev made up for this with up-down hotkeys on the D-pad and it works quite well esp. with the adjustable opacity slider.

On the original DS (not DSi) the touvh screen actually had the pressure sensibility. It's a feature not advertised by Nintendo and worked wonky from the code perspective but the dev made it work smoothly in the app!

The Switch version uses SonarPen which detects pressure via sound.

I was planning on posting this today anyways, but now I find out it's ? I'm hoping that's a good sign 😅

I've been teaching myself how to use & dipping my toe into the world of .

Don't worry, I don't plan on ever stopping my usual pen & ink art, but there are some things I want to create that I need to stretch into other mediums for.

Anyways, I did a “learn krita while painting Bob Ross” tutorial which was super helpful, ...

then did another Bob Ross on my own, and now this:

this is only my second non-Bob painting, and I'm fairly pleased with how it came out!

I know I have A LOT of improvement still, the world of color is rather a bit of a conundrum for me as I'm so used to working in black and white. I know I have a few artist mutuals here, so please feel free to critique, also if you have any favorite tutorials, or books to learn from, that would be awesome too!

agumon,

It's almost been a year since I've had Momo in my life now and I wanted to paint him now that he's all grown up! For the past several months, I have been struggling a lot with burnout and depression, but Momo has been the absolute light of my life during this time. He's a very happy kitty that loves to chat, play, and explore his surroundings with wonder and amazement. Because of this, I wanted to paint a piece that showed Momo in the the way that I see him. ♡

@agumon Now I love him too. It's good to have innocence and love to walk next to us through the darker days. Cuddle and let the gratitude fill his little body! hugs to you both.

My favourite work so far. Alex the fish boy (and girl, and everything in between, because they're a fish and don't care about gender.)

Face detail because yes I spent hours on it

agumon,

Some style exploration with anthro characters. I also have been wanting to paint jewelry for a while now - Lately, I've been reading Nana (the manga) for the first time and I love the attention to detail done on the jewelry the characters wear, and I wanted to try and do something like that. :blobWobble:

serpenillus,

A mother Dinocephalosaurus orientalis giving birth in the coastal seas of Middle Triassic Asia. The aquatic Dinocephalosaurus is the first archosauromorph known to be viviparous, although Metriorhynchid Crocodyliforms also evolved viviparity separately

This is an illustration for my book (still in preparation) and it is still a WIP, although almost finished
