If #Russia actually manages to like… get rid of its dictators and fascists (yes, that definitely includes #Wagner) and pay reparations, the best PR move that #Ukraine could make would be to stage a filmed event where Ukrainians teach Russians to use a laundry machine.

Putin gave a speech in the morning calling this an armed rebellion by "backstabbers". Now this evening he is apparently doing a deal with those same rebels. Doesn't that make him look very publicly weak? :/
@FediThing@mariyadelano yeah, I wonder if #Prigozhin and #wagner ever really intended to take Moscow, and instead they will fortify their own little fief in Rostov. #Russia then gets to be spared the embarrassment of a battle of Moscow, but man. Insane situation. No way they can pretend nothing happened.
The retreat announcement only happened a few minutes ago, so we don't have much further info.
I would like to say though that Prigozhin DID NOT say that they are done with the coup attempt or that they will not resume advancing. He only said that they are in a risky situation, covered a lot of distance, and they are going to rest in field camps.
@mariyadelano from another post, it looks like Lukashenko tried to mediate but failed. It's almost 9pm in Russia now, they're probably camping for the night--lots of distance made with little ability for night attacks, it's probably a smart choice for Prigozhyn

#Moscow announced that the "holiday" on Monday (that they decided on as Wagner began approaching the city) is remaining in place. Not all is quiet here yet, friends.

At #Rostov HQ in the Southern Military District, people are saying goodbye to #Wagner soldiers “who have changed their shoes, shouting "Wagner is power", they are starting their tanks and loading ammunition. It is reported that the mercenaries were ordered to gather and retreat to their bases.”
A #Rostov telegram channel on the current atmosphere there:

Here at the top Lukashenko is saying "let's make up" / "let's stop fighting" and the music producer Prigozhin says "Let’s”

@mariyadelano sounds like a show of force to make a point. Either someone cut a deal with him last minute, or there's some longer endgame this is part of. Because he has to realize that his days without taking a steep fall out a window now are limited after showing his hand like this.

Back his patron Putin, and 2. if Prigozhin is successful in destabilizing Russia, then Kadyrov expands his territory into Russia while everyone is otherwise occupied.
