You don't have to wait for me to randomly post interesting accounts to follow. I have a website at https://fedi.directory which has all the recommendations sorted into categories.
@FediFollows people don't function this way. They don't memorize urls or store them in a "list of useful stuff". People will not follow your advice because by tomorrow they will have forgotten it. This is why other social media platforms continually examine what users like, then suggest other accounts they might like to follow. It's not hard. It's not the boogeyman, it's common sense and good software design.
Umm... no one has to memorise anything? All they do is browse and if they see what they want they follow it. The point of a directory is so that people don't have to memorise, they can look stuff up.

People have been using directories, dictionaries and encyclopedias of various kinds for centuries. Wikipedia is a kind of directory.
Social media is full of people posting lists of recommended follows, the idea here is similar.
If you prefer algorithms that's your choice, but the reason they tend to be shunned on here is that they tend to be opaque and reflective of the biases of their creator.
