« Les élus d’opposition promettent d’étudier toutes les possibilités pour fluidifier la circulation, comme la réouverture aux voitures des voies réservées au bus, comme « sur le cours des Cinquante-Otages » ou l’installation de passerelles piétonnes au-dessus des routes. « On fera des propositions en conseil municipal. On ne veut pas d’une guerre entre les différents moyens de mobilités », insiste Sarah El Haïry. »
I am curious if the "announcment" feature Mastodon admins have access to is actually useful.
I suspect many people never see them. I think I've only ever seen it displayed in the "official" mastodon web UI. And never in any of the (many) apps I use.
@MagentaRocks Yup, that's the announcement indicator - and by default the announcements are hidden.
To me (as a web developer working at a design agency), I have a strong suspicion that the design and support/implementation around Announcements is about as bad as possible at getting a message actually noticed.

🥥 Matt, Eye'm a proud monthly contributor to Stux for the wonderful work being done to maintain and improve the Mastodon instance that Eye use.
That being said, because Eye rarely use the web UI, Eye rarely see announcements.
I have yet to discover how to access announcements using either my Android tablet or phone in either the native Mastodon app or in Megalodon, which Eye also use.
Thank YOU for running this helpful poll. 🥥
To pull off our plans and win in November, we must muster the same energy that fueled our victory in 2020. We had to scale back our plans in 2023 because we fell short of our fundraising goals (like so many in the progressive space). With all that’s at stake this year, we can’t let that happen again. Please support our work to end Trump’s political career once and for all. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indivisible-action-1?refcode=mastodon20240526directpost&source=mastodon
Spent way too much time making this happen, but every entry in Almanac (books, movie, tv shows, games) has a poster/cover now and a fancy grid view rather than the boring list.
Today is the 100 year anniversary that the US Govt enacted the Immigration Act of 1924—banning all immigration from Asia, while allowing effectively open borders for white European migrants.
Make no mistake. The current anti-immigrant movement is inspired by the same white supremacist policies. Allowing them to be successful will set our nation back generations.
