The new RedragonShop Eisa K686 Pro SE keyboard just arrived at my front door a few minutes ago.

This was sent to me as a review unit, so I'll be using it, checking it out and testing it over the next couple of weeks and then posting my review on the blog that you can view here:

@cliffwade Not a fan of the art or font, and the colours chosen are a little odd.

Free for all to read at my Patreon... I review an extraordinary new book that expands our knowledge of - and empathy with - the oceans and their inhabitants:

I'm exhausted by the incessant demands to rate every product I buy online, every ride I book, and every meal I order. It's time for work-to-rule. My demand is a credit of 50¢ for each rating and $5 for each text review over 20 words.

If companies don't think my feedback is worth that very-modest sum, then it's not worth harassing me for with notifications and emails

I’ve stopped rating EVERYTHING except services by a real human person’s effort.

This is a big part of why searching for reviews on things sucks now. Garbage fake reviews and SEO boosting bullshit

@zephyrxero Honestly, I’m one of those people that will add “Reddit” after my search term (using DDG too) just so I can quickly get some opinions from ordinary people who shared said opinion with no incentive other than to share it.

Saw THE ZONE OF INTEREST last Friday. I needed some distance before posting about it. I have zero quips. I will say it was a unique viewing experience that moved me and stayed with me for days. The sound design in particular is absolutely remarkable. Some of the film's impact is dependent on the theatrical viewing experience, so if you're interested, see it in a theater while you can.

@candycritic Not if orange-chocolate is the theme. 🤢 Not my fave combo. But yeah, cool to see.

@cs I never thought about it, but oranges are often associated with Chinese New Year, so I wonder if all the treats are orange too.

IGF reviews: visual novels. Okay, a lot of the games in my last post were visual novels, but I need some kind of categorization or the posts would all collide.

  • Saltsea Chronicles
  • End of Lines
  • Solace State
  • Windy Meadow: A Roadwarden Tale

Plus mention of Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood and The Wreck, which are reviewed on my blog already.

matt,

@zarfeblong Looks like the Solace State game site has expired.

anthracite,

@zarfeblong

I played the demo of Stars & Time and found it more Undertaleian than Homestuckish. Not that there’s much distance given that UT came out of HS fandom. Super charming but it didn’t quite grab me enough to buy it. Maybe when it shows up on sale, especially if it’s gotten some “I’m just here for the story” de-grindification.

matt,

@zarfeblong The Archivist and the Revolution reminded me of Bee by Emily Short, which I've played. So I wasn't surprised to see Bee in the list of inspirations.
