It's been a while since I posted here. Here's my latest Blender render—My old calculator. This was my favorite. I always brought two of these to every STEM exam in university, just in case. They were around $20 when I was in school. #Blender3D#3DArt#3DRender#3DArtist
#WritersCoffeeClub 8/11. What does your most productive writing space look like?
The smallest room in the house.
No, not that one, it's bigger than my office.
Not that the office is a pokey hole, but it's not huge and has two small desks, two filing cabinets, lots of shelves and two big office chairs. But not much space between.
I do my day job here and also write. No photo because I'm away.
I asked the hotel to provide a hard back chair, and they did. Which was nice.
It makes me chuckle a little that one of the biggest NFT stores on the Cardano blockchain is just called 'JPG Store'.
So many people are like "NFTs are shit. Do you not realise you're just buying an image?" and the name 'JPG Store' is just screaming "Come and buy some expensive JPGs"
Also, there is some really bad, but also some really cool artwork in the NFT world and I think its cool that artists can make art and get paid for it.
On JPG Store, the Clay Nation collection looks really cool - but the floor price is ₳1449 and no way would I pay the equivalent of $350 (USD) for a contract of ownership of a JPG.
#WordWeavers Day 10/5. How often do you discuss your writing with your real-life friends and family?
I might talk to my wife about actual writing issues, and she does the same with me.
My kids know what I write (including the smutty stuff, no secrets). But we don't discuss it particularly.
I don't talk about it much otherwise, though I did post a picture of my book stand from last weekend in a small group - someone commented they couldn't believe how many books I'd written.
#WordWeavers Day 10/20. Are your MCs good at fixing mechanical things or house maintenance?
Maliha Anderson can clean (she had to at boarding school) and is very interested in technology but not in a practical sense (though she could figure out the practical side - she's extremely clever).
But in the Iron Pegasus books, Khuwelsa Edgbaston is an outstanding engineer, while her sister, Harriet, is a very skilled pilot.
#WordWeavers Day 10/27. Do you ever mention writing or reading in your stories? Part Two
In another of my steampunk series, there's Winifred Churchill. She writes.
She styles herself an "Investigating Journalist", and works for the Manchester Guardian - although at first she's forced to cover fashion and other items of interest to ladies of quality.
She has her own books but crops up doing cameos in other series.
Back around 1994 I used to use Bryce 3D to create computer generated landscapes. I didn't post them all over the Internet though... I just rendered them and stuck them in a folder.
So I guess what I'm wondering is... am I any different from the people who keep posting AI generated art?
(I mean, besides being decades ahead in my exploration.)
