There are 295 people signed up for public comment at the Cambridge City Council tonight, most of whom will be speaking on a policy order to delay the city's implementation of bike lanes.

crschmidt,
@crschmidt@better.boston avatar

First pro-bike lane delay speaker was speaker #61, who says that she is confused how people have co-opted safe streets as an issue pedestrians support, because she knows that pedestrians are "terrified" of bike lanes, and hate them. ""Let's design it correctly, let's make it work, let's keep our businesses strong, let's support the pedestrians"

(Note that we have spent literally years building to this point in the process.)

@MisshapenDeviate@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Ey that’s the reason I started reading Green Arrow.

First of all, if you haven’t read the Injustice comics they are quite enjoyable. Not peak fiction, but they function as fun prequels to the games.

I personally don’t know a ton about Zatanna, but there’s a relatively recent Reddit post (proxied link) that recommends the recent Dini run and its TPBs as the best place to read. If you want the origin of the character, it seems like you’ll have to jump through some hoops. Like Moon Knight, it took forever for her to get a solo run. Unlike Moon Knight, she does not appear to have a convenient omnibus collecting all of her original appearances. If you want her first appearance, it’s Hawkman #4 (1964).

Solomon Grundy’s first appearance seems to be All-American Comics (1944). He’s got a solo run by Scott Kolins from 2009. I see some mentions of Batman: Long Halloween as a good story featuring him, as well.

The survey team has preliminarily determined the likely cause of the Sol 3 ["Terra"/"Earth"] (Galactic Index: 4940392-392392-140392-292) extinction event, which we estimate occurred approximately 24000 planetary orbits ago, between our scheduled and surveys of the sector.

Records extracted from a storage facility deep in a natural mine strongly suggest that a global "DNS" failure triggered the planetary extinction over a period of no more than 30 revolutions of the planet.

Unfortunately, we do not yet know more specifics about "DNS", and are operating under the assumption it had some reference to nuclear or biological warfare agents.

We are continuing to analyze the retrieved data. This is a slow process however, even using the galactic central computplex, since the data is heavily biased with trillions of photo and video images of the ruling species of the planet, which called itself a "Meow".

We will keep the survey office updated of course. - Bylex-Tomol-Zolum-Blub-090-03190-S

Though there has previously not been any canon Chalnoth ships, the design here appears to be based on the ships seen on the cover of DC Comics’ “Star Trek: The Next Generation” , published in 1994.

This is really fun, I don’t think TV Trek should stress about “beta canon” but in instances when it can be used it’s nice
