I mainly cycle & use public transport. Today I was asked to drive a van & realised how incredibly easy it is to not cross advanced stop lines & enter the area reserved for waiting cyclists. Who knew?
I am pretty hardened & streetwise in cycling in traffic, but today I experienced the awful experience of a #PunishmentPass . Approaching a roundabout I was suddenly overtaken by a van giving ~25cm clearance. Van then cut in clipping my pedal and then sped off without stopping.😡😡😡
What is in the mind of these people? I don't think they want me dead, yet their action was so close to achieving this I can't fathom what their thought processes are. Still a bit shaky.

Nowe drogi stanowią obwodnicę dla Powidza, umożliwiając szybki dojazd do Przybrodzina i okolicznych miejscowości, położonych nad jeziorem powidzkim. co najważniejsze, zrobili prawie prawilna infrastruktura rowerową, co jest rzadkością w polskiej rzeczywistości. Może dlatego, że zrobiono to z myślą o amerykańskiej bazie? Z drugiej strony, stare drogi, jak były dziurawe, tak są do teraz ;-)
No i po drodze zajrzałem na jezioro Orchowskie, które "przybrało na wadze" dzięki opadom deszczu. Jak w większości jezior.

Please sign this petition demanding that #EastDunartonshire Council properly tackles road safety before there are any more deaths on its roads. Many incidents would be avoidable with traffic calming and proper infrastructure for walking and cycling.
The thrust of this article is that ebikes give more exercise than pedal bikes as owners ride further and more often. This can only be true if your riding is a discretionary/leisure activity. You can ride more or less as you choose. If most of your riding is utilitarian, commuting, shopping etc, ie your journeys/mileage are broadly fixed, then a traditional bike will give more exercise.
