Hello new folks! There's a lot of you recently, so I thought I'd do an #intro post. I'm an independent #musician who uses Mastodon to spread the word about #IndependentMusic --my own, and the work of others! If you #follow, you'll get lots of recommendations of new, #independent, #underground#music of all kinds! My own favorite is weird #ElectronicMusic, but I listen to and write about all kinds of music.
The FSA #Faircamp site is online! There's a couple tweaks to be made, for example, I seem to have gotten at least one release date wrong (copy/paste strikes again), but nothing I'm worried about fixing right away.
Support is always appreciated, but feel free to just listen or take advantage of the "soft" paywall too.
I've listened to quite a bit of new #music recently and, in truth... very little, if any of it actually 'cuts through'.
Now, this is not me saying it's bad and nor does it have anything to do with production... it just doesn't catch or keep my attention... snd this, ladies and gentlemen of the #IndependentMusic is something you need to think about...
...especially if you are looking for a wider audience than the people who say nice things... which, fortunately for me... I'm not.
I've finally listened to the whole of Salvation from @jessica while out walking over three nights, and it was worth the wait for the full release.
This is an album born of trauma and pain (just listen to I've Been Better), but it brings the metal magic of turning that into pure energy, catharsis, defiance - and triumph. It is clearly a journey, and rewards listening to in order.

Even though this sounds ragedy as fuck, I'm happy how it's turned up, I don't really want to mess with it for risk of making it suck and miss the point completely. Too much delay, too much distortion. Cool.
I'd describe as dark, brooding, psychedelia melting down over militant drum machines. If that's your bag, feel free to load up.
Has anyone got suggestions for a UK merch site that both manufactures the bits and sells them? I'd like to sell t shirts but also mugs, badges, bags etc?
I just tried teemill but the design software kept freezing / losing products so that was a wasted couple of hours.
I'm aware of Redbubble, Spreadshirt etc., what do you use?
I haven’t shilled my band here in quite a long time. We haven’t been doing much this last couple of years to be honest as the singer has a wee baby but we’ll get round to some new bits eventually.
Early warning: If you’ve considered buying my most recent LP but balked at the price (these lathe-cut things are made individually in real time, not en mass like pressed records) I get it.
