I've asked this before and don't think there was as much up and running at that point, but are there any great existing platforms for hosting (and related puppet vids) that also give the option to embed privately or "unlisted"?

I currently pay a Vimeo subscription to have no ads and privacy settings on certain playlists, but I'd prefer to put those funds into more recording time and the videos themselves. Any suggestions? 🙃

@LucaManciniDrummer Hello! Yes, that's one thing I'd like to do (having space to upload larger videos and no ad presence are other factors and I pay to do that through Vimeo currently), but I'm just at a loss with what instance to join and wondered if there was an existing community of Fediverse folks already on there that I might've missed? I still have YouTube and don't mind using that for a lot of things, but for private/unlisted stuff and specific videos, the ads are kind of intrusive.

@LucaManciniDrummer No worries, I didn't explain it too well! Yes, that's a good summary of what I'm trying to do. For instance, I share some vids with a small group of people on my site (both music vids and longer "episodes" of things) and it would be good if I could do some of that outside of YouTube infrastructure. This has just popped up from @freebliss and looks like it be onto something (as long as there is an upload guide for dummies like myself). 🙃 https://simonrepp.com/hyper8/
