@WanderingTaoist@ML2 Damned if I know where the #Mastodon ones are. The rest are scattered all over the Net going back many years. I've never tried to organize them.
ActivityPub is so neat! With all the new implementations coming out, it's slowly becoming my "one stop shop" internet aggregator.
For example, all from within my Mastodon instance I can:
Follow communities on Lemmy and Kbin, allowing me to interact with every post/comment and make my own post or comment to any community.
Follow my favorite podcasts and get new episodes directly in my feed via PodcastIndex.org
Follow WordPress blogs that have the ActivityPub plugin activated.
SOON enough I'll be able to:
Interact/follow accounts on Threads (and hopefully someday Instagram)
Follow/interact with comments/posts/communities from NodeBB forums.
This protocol is changing the internet and how I use it every day.
PS. If you want more information on how to do any of these things, just let me know and I will explain. Though please limit to asking about one or two at a time, as some are quite intricate in their implementations.
Edit: Nitter has been shut down 2 days after I posted this. Oh well. Fuck Xhitter
Making a little Kitten app called Streamiverse that lets you create a curated streaming timeline of fediverse posts using the Mastodon API that can be consumed via WebSocket when teaching web development and creating demo apps during presentations, etc.
Previously, you could consume the public stream from a Mastodon instance directly but that feature was recently removed, breaking, among other things, the WebSocket sample app for Kitten.
(You could, of course, easily create variations of this for things like curating your own collections of posts and maybe adding RSS feeds to them – fediverse newsletters, if you will – or creating curated displays of fediverse posts for conferences, etc.
Feel free to have a play.)
(It’s all under AGPL like nearly everything else I write, including Kitten itself.)
#mastodon#magyar#tartalom (#mmt)
Success! All the instances we host, including my own private environments, have been upgraded to v4.2.4
Ran into a bit of trouble with my private instance, because I'd previously replaced Puma web server with Iodine as an experiment. It's supposed to be more efficient and have a smaller memory footprint, but in practice the difference is pretty negligible (and I'd really expected that Iodine would launch faster too. It takes exactly as long as Puma). That left me with little incentive to troubleshoot what had broken after the upgrade, so I just returned to the original stock components. Funnily, my test instance (also on Iodine) had no trouble at all shrug
