I had this great idea of starting up a Discord server for other admins/moderators that would be interested in having conversations with other admins outside of Mastodon/Fediverse, as I know there are quite a few admins that actually like and use Discord.
While yes, I know there are Matrix servers and other things in use, but it's always good to have other platforms that others like as well.
Anyone curious in something like this? (continued...)
"Employees from Meta have been meeting with leaders from large ActivityPub servers recently, including Mastodon CEO Eugen Rochko, to discuss the plan under NDA ahead of the app’s release. Meta knows it’s treading on thin ice with the power users of ActivityPub who are already incredibly wary of its motives."
@mastodonmigration My complaint is why they are not including a sample of small #mastodonadmins. The impact on us (and there are more of us) may be greater.
@RiversideBryan I did a whole rant moderation style declarations and it even got boosted by @jeff , but nobody bit. I think #MastodonAdmins really need to consider it.
so heres a question for the #MastodonAdmins and #MastodonMods out there. if my server that #mastodon is running on went down temporarily and someone mentions my account or sends me a direct message whilst the server is down, what happens? is it queued at their instance, or does it vanish for ever? @daj@neil@davidoclubb
