While Wordpress and other options do exist, I need to make a site and am thinking about starting from scratch. I want to have a blog part, but then that means actually learning CSS and not just putting a style block in each page or tag. Any reliable free hosing services out there? I'm looking at Neocities, but there's no guarantee that content will not be lost. If something happens, unless I somehow remember to have several backups I could lose my whole site.
haviing successfully installed wordpress, I'm leaning more and more to keeping an rss feed somehow on a #neocities page.
neocities got the lowest rate of endorsement when I asked my mutuals about which platform they'd prefer to read my blog in, but neocities and gemini are the only remaining places I know where blogging can bring a smile to my face, and gemini isn't friendly for image-heavy blogs.
Working on making a simple site, and Neocities is great. It's free, and the only issues I'm having are because I'm too stubborn to actually look up how CSS works before it breaks horribly. Though it's hard to not get sidetracked because there are buttons. If I can't have my button hoodie , at the very least I need a button page.
#neocities finally got rid of new following updates from the feed! Looking forward to refollowing some popular sites again and seeing actual site updates. Would have preferred a filtering solution, but it’s still an upgrade imo.
I want to buy a cute domain so badly, but I told myself I can’t unless I have a compelling idea that would be impossible on #neocities. I should probably focus on learning javascript instead of picking PHP back up, but if any of you want to enable me with a fun idea, I'm all ears 👀
Someone knows any android NATIVE app for neocities? Means - for free version so not custom and my browser (what is chrome) doesnt remember cookies... (already having problem with logging-out itchio account) #question#neocities
