My new batch of Arnemancy buttons from #PortlandButtonWorks is here! They are amazing. The color is great, the art is crisp, and I am pleased. #buttons
I used to slam the button game. I had a huge olive military jacket/shirt - IYKYK - plastered in buttons. I was that one weirdo in high school with the military button jacket.
A close friend from then, who I still talk to now (she's a writer in LA), wrote a character into one of her high school detective novels that wore the same olive green jacket.
I asked her about that, if that was my jacket. She said she was inspired by all kinds of things we experienced in HS, wink wink. 😎
Jillian Cade, by Jen Klein, if you're curious. It is good YA stuff! I loved it, and not just because of the appearance of my jacket.

Why are the buttons of men's shirts manufactured in the USA on the right-hand side (i.e., buttonholes on the left) while the buttons of women's shirts are on the left-hand side? Is it this way in other countries? I ask because a friend bought me a men's jacket made in the UK and the zipper-pull on that jacket is on the left-hand side while zipper-pulls on men's jackets made in the USA are on the right-hand side.
Right, accessibility folks! Please could you all weigh in on this!
For good or bad, a common design practice is to make links (goes to a different page) look like buttons. Assuming the underlying code is correct (uses instead of ) so assistive technology announces it correctly, is it OK that the "link" is not underlined?
I'd be grateful for further reading links and/or shouty opinions! 😃
The most frequently mentioned accessibility barriers:
-Unlabelled buttons or links
-Small buttons or links
-Gestures required to interact
-Parts of the screen blocked
-No error messages
-Not able to resize text
-Not able to pinch and zoom
It's a shame that web designers and developers still can't get basics like buttons and links right.
All Nintendo and LucasArts stickers are part of the store sale. This means, Mushroom Kingdom packs are already a 3x1 deal now with a heckin' fancy discount! Kirby ones on discount too
We have returned from spending Thanksgiving week on the Oregon coast with family. Good times! My Father-in-Law, who has been a ham since probably before I was born, is downsizing and gave me a pile of goodies to bring home and use. More things to learn! I now have my own oscilloscope, which (as a proper nerd) I've always wanted... #hamradio#electronics
