It’s the first day of winter in the Northern hemisphere so a bonus #ArtAdventCalendar - my linocut Persephone. The ancient Greek goddess Persephone, beloved daughter of Demeter was kidnapped by Hades, god of the underworld, and taken to his home where she was tempted with many delicious items. The pomegranate proved the most irresistible and sealed her fate. For the six pomegranate seeds she accepted from Hades, 🧵 #linocut#printmaking#persephone#pomegranate#GreekMythology#winter#MastoArt
It's been quite a while since I posted about pomegranates, but I finally got some concentrated pomegranate juice!
Because it contains lactic acid bacteria, the color is cloudy, but the taste is sweet and sour. Not bad! 😊
I diluted it with hot water and drank it.
It warms my body. #pomegranate#concentrated juice
This has been my drink of choice for the past few years - if you have some #pomegranate molasses around for cooking, use about a tablespoon of it swished around in a couple of tbsp of warm water in your glass, then fill it up with soda water (aka club soda).
It's very tasty - and it's easy to find pomegranate molasses in regular supermarkets for less than $5.
Today was so hot it was hard to believe it was November.
I feel that our planet is slowly losing its seasonal boundaries.
This photo was taken on a walkway in neither summer nor fall.
Some pomegranate fruits were hanging like lanterns, while others were ripe and opening their mouths like monsters. 🧟♀️❤️ #pomegranate#plants#japan#monsters
Hmm, wondering why two of the #pomegranate trees failed to set any fruit this year; thinking the extended "June gloom" may have interrupted pollination on those two. Plenty of flowers, zero fruit set. #gardening
