Tonight my group is going to run our first session of #startrekadventures and I'm really excited! I rolled a bunch of dice to determine my backstory, and ended up becoming the ship's counselor while also being a Klingon. Which is so goofy that I can't wait to see the shenanigans he gets up to!
I'm really chuffed about reaching episode 10—and the end of the first season—for my player group of (mostly) Trill crew on the Nebula-class USS Curzon. We're just reaching the end of 2371, they've been assigned to help with Admiral Leyton's Excelsior-class refit project, and the shift from "we're explorers" to "we must defend the Federation" has started to tip over given the political climate.

Earlier today, I ran #StarTrekAdventures for my 9yo niece Anya who plays Cmdr Jewel Mochizuki, XO of the Walker class USS Bangkok.
She leads a landing party to investigate the distress beacon of USS Neptune in the cloudscape of the gas giant Anansi Aleph III. Alien creatures had invaded the corridors of the USS Neptune.
Lt Cmdr Tsang, Lt Heisenberg & her must avoid the aliens, rescue the ship before she falls into the violent storm beneath!
Putting the (almost entirely) Trill crew of the USS Curzon through this pre-printed adventure was both awesome and amusing-as-all-heck. Every single time the adventure said "the players will likely do A or B" they did C. Or D. Or C and then D, with a dash of E. #StarTrekAdventures
I favor understatement in RPG materials. Weird fonts and cluttered layouts hamper my ability to read the book. Many things that might make a book look "cool" may turn me off it.
My current favorite is the Star Trek Adventures Gamemaster's Guide. Textured cover. Simple black text on white pages. Enough art to navigate around it. Even has a bookmark!
#RPGaDay 18. Favourite game SYSTEM
I've said before that I'm not very good with favourites, but I do like it when a system invokes the feel of the setting.
Please respond by saying what sorts of TTRPG things you're pretty likely to either talk about or respond to if you see them.
This can be a list of games (D&D! Tribe 8! Fate!) or categories (the weirdest of indie stuff! NSR! Anything PBtA!), topics (Worldbuilding! Publishing!), stuff you're making, meta-commentary (The State Of The Industry), and so on.
Then maybe share, and if the replies are building up, check them for new people.
And though it's not quite a #TTRPG, I'd toss #Frosthaven into the mix, too. It scratches many of the same itches, even though it's much more a board game than a TTRPG.
