For many trans people, being able to transition can be absolutely life changing and life saving.
One person told us "Before transitioning, I could not see myself in the future. That person didn't exist, there wasn't a space in the world that I could fill. Now there is."

This #PrideMonth is hitting different. I'm doing a lot more thinking, and planning on doing a lot more changing. In previous years I've always felt outside of Pride celebrations. This year I'm celebrating by becoming who I really want to be.
It's terrifying. I'm the most scared I've been in quite a while. At the same time, I can't keep pretending I'm happy with my body as it currently is.
I don't want to be masc. I don't want to be fem. I just want to be me, whatever that looks like.
I could really use some folks to talk to during this #transition, ideally folks who have been through something similar. Despite the month, it's hard not to feel alone in being #agender wanting to move away from both sides of the gender binary.
Write for TransActual. We're looking for perspectives from sex workers, pieces about trans joy, articles about parenting and starting a family, and the experiences of people's lives as a trans person within your local community.
A #GeneralElection has been called, make sure you're registered to vote by the 18th June and ensure your voice is heard. Also remember to bring a form of voter ID.
I am a tiny bit sad. If only because now I will remember a number -- 23149880 -- that is truly and completely obsolete. I really need to conserve brain space for more important things.
Also, if ICQ can last, what, 15 years? after it became irrelevant, what does that say about how long we're going to have to suffer with Twitter/X if people ever actually leave en-masse?
If you're trans and have got questions about transition related surgery, TransActual are here to help. Check out our 'What Do I Need To Know About Transition Related Surgery?' resource at https://tinyurl.com/TransActualSurgery
We're hearing lots of reports of GPs refusing to prescribe HRT to their trans patients. If that happens to you (or has happened to you recently) help us to track and monitor the issue. Fill in our online form: https://tinyurl.com/TransActualHRT
Hewo Fedi !
We've been hearing an increasing number of reports of trans people's GPs refusing to prescribe their HRT to them - even if they have a letter from an NHS gender clinic requesting that they do.
Hi, I'm Amani, could you please help me with my transition?
I am trying to change my life and finally be able to be a happy woman. I just hope to have the support of my entire community and all good people. Please, if you can donate and share, I appreciate it very much🤞🏼🏳️⚧️
“Trans people aren’t a threat to anyone; hate born by ignorance is. All trans (including non binary) people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, no matter who we are and where we are at with our medical and social transition. Look beyond the hype and fear-mongering in the press. Become the representation you want to see yourself.” Fox Fisher
Elagabalus was made a Roman Emperor at the age of just 14. The Emperor often wore wigs and makeup, and liked to be referred to by feminine titles. Elagabalus reportedly offered a large sum of money to any doctor who could give them a vagina.

#trans people: what you want out of #transition is your business and nobody else's.
There is no moral component to what you desire. Do you want to look basically like a cis person of your favoured gender? Or visibly trans? Both are valid choices. Muscular, slim, or chunky? Elegant, tacky, or slobbish? Femme, masc, or aggressively non-binary? Big-titted? Small-titted? Flat as a board? Made up or natural? Alternative or normie?
Basically if it is achievable and safe, go for it. And if your vision evolves over time, that's great too!
The most powerful thing you can be is unapologetically yourself. Let nobody, cis or trans, shame you for your own choice of presentation. You never asked to be at the forefront of some culture war. Your chosen look isn't a comment on feminism or queer rights or race or privilege or anything else.
Again, don't like doing this. But better safe than sorry.
I've been dragging my feet at taking the walk to grabbing my official #HRT pills because I'm a paranoid fuck about getting slapped with a co-pay I can't afford. So better safe than sorry.
Even though I'm on Medicaid now, I wouldn't put that shit past a pharmacy at this point. Remember when I got slapped with a $70 co-pay when I got 'official' HRT?
Hopefully, I can quit doing this begging sooner rather than later, but that'd require me getting hired.
“There is an extreme lack of representation for young, Deaf, queer, Jewish, Asian, transgender artists. So, I decided to be my own representation.” Chella Man
I have always been suspicious that the "EVs are too expensive" notion is a plant by Fossil Fuel companies and some car manufacturers to shift the blame to consumers for not transitioning to EVs.
10: Hyundai Elantra: $21,999 v Audi Q4 e-tron: $63,400
9: Hyundai Kona: $25,999 v Mustang Mach-E: $57,690
8: Honda Civic: $28,765 v Kia Niro EV: $48,544
7: Honda CR-V: $37,261 v Toyota bZ4x: $48,042
6: Toyota Corolla: $26,372 v Hyundai Ioniq 5: $54,999
5: GMC Sierra: $48,931 v Hyundai Kona Electric: $46,399
4: Chevy Silverado: $47,931 v Volkswagen ID.4: $51,220
3: Toyota RAV4: $36,202 v Chevy Bolt: $41,575
2: Dodge Ram: $37,952 v Tesla Model 3: $53,990
1: Ford F-150: $46,600 v Tesla Model Y: $54,990
Averages: Gas: $35,801.20 EV: $52,084.90
So ya, the difference overall is about $20,000 on average.
However, these are all base prices and while EVs generally have only a few higher priced options, the Gas cars/trucks often start low and have many higher priced options, some over $75K. So I believe the real-world selling price averages would be closer.
I believe it will take governments being aggressive and consistent on their Electric-only targets to force companies to re-tool their productions to both meet demand and bring the prices down.
Both Canada and the USA have recently gone in the opposite direction, both pushing back their EV-only targets. This is both why prices remain high, and we won't hit our CO2 reductions.
And ya, as a proud Hyundai Kona Electric owner, I'm going to finish with this “call-out" from the CEO of Hyundai to other manufacturers.
"Why would anybody want to purchase an EV from an [automaker like Toyota or GM] who’s lobbying against EVs?”
On a démonté pour vous les fausses idées reçues sur l’#écologie et recueilli des idées pour se mobiliser - en se rappelant que l’écologie est strictement liée aux autres luttes !
"Through my own identity as a trans man, and one of a race other than white, I really wanted to share my own experiences to show that everyone's on a different path. It's not an easy journey and I don't think it's ever really over. It can be emotionally draining, but it can also be really rewarding." Leo Sheng
The good news is that thanks to the help of TeaHRT and @SleepyCatten , I have my spare #HRT coming to me. Crisis averted. I'm also meeting with a new, Medicaid-approved psychiatrist and therapist that'll be needed for the bad news.
The bad news? This morning, my mom passed away at the age of 60 due to complications of lung cancer. She was fighting via chemo on-and-off for the past five years. But about a-week-&-a-half ago, it reached the point where she sought at-home hospice. Me and my siblings were caretakers and assisted the hospice nurses as mom deteriorated more rapidly than expected.
I'm an emotional wreck right now. Thank the-deity-of-your-choice for dogs giving me support in this trying time.
