Bourque Bearskin & Victoria Dick of #Tseshaht are currently working on creating a #curriculum, “from the ground up”, called the #Indigenous #Graduate #Education & #Nursing #IGEN program for #UVic.

For Bourque Bearskin and Dick, the work they’ve been doing over the last few years, including the development of the #MastersProgram, is better aligning #healthcare with the principles of #UNDRIP.

Getting ready to head out to start setup & then facilitate a memorial healing ceremony. If it starts to rain too much - we'll do it at different outdoors location, with overhead shelter.

My friend & I are going to bring some fire extinguishers & some other essential supplies to the new encampment at tomorrow. We're collecting other needed donations for drop-offs all through the new week 🍉☮️🇵🇸✌️💗🙏🍉

Glad that this article is out there now about the VIU encampment and the unjustified threats from administration.

Speak up folks. For the right to protest AND against genocidal governments and those that support them.

I'd just like to say I've been to enough protests of various topics that I have, in the past, seen anarchists, black block types, etc. I know what they look like.

I saw them before the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, and another time in Vancouver at a Climate protest. In both cases they were a tiny TINY portion of the crowd and stuck out like a sore thumb and have never, in my experience, ever been acting in connection with the overall group. They are their own thing.

There has been nothing of that sort in any protest that I have seen in these #Palestine protests. So any suggestion of such is, in my opinion, a pure fabrication and an incitement and dog whistle to Police to justify violence against the encampments.

This week in our first-year course on #ClimateChange at #UVic we're looking at climate impacts and what can be done to mitigate or adapt to them. I like this figure from the #IPCC AR6 WGIII report.

Which branches of this tree do you think we'll follow?

The booking system on the hair salon website I used today is terrible. A garbage embed.

It's like they don't even test it first.

edwiebe,

@kevinlovestech The one they use at asks for your State but only lists Provinces. I think the Saskatchewan parks campsite booking tool does that too. Or did.

I keep thinking about what one of the graduate students in my department at told me. They rent in a heritage house. It's got no meaningful insulation, has drafts, poor windows. They keep their (baseboard) heating set to 11 ºC in winter (!) because the heating bill is too large otherwise.

There's no incentive at all for the landlord to update this house. There are probably disincentives, if this is really a heritage designated property.

Melting all of the ice would take a very long time and may never happen, depending on our collective decisions.
