Guitar icon Eric Clapton releases new song accompanied by imagery

Titled Voice of a Child, video features images of extensive destruction in Gaza, the life of palestinian children images from and pro-Palestinian/Anti-Wad protests around the world.

It's really sad that YouTube have decided to age restrict the video even though it doesn't have anything violent or graphic to disturb the younger generation, and much less than what they see on TV shows, movies and Video games

To all the brave university students protesting the ongoing genocide in Gaza, I see you, I hear you, and I applaud your resolve. Also, please protect yourselves.

It is my duty now for the future to point out that the band DEVO formed in the early 1970s "in response to the failed promise of utopian progress peddled by post-WWII politicians and consumer culture" and amid the turmoil surrounding Vietnam war protests in the US.

The core members of DEVO were friends with two of the four students who were shot by gas-masked National Guardsman at the May 4, 1970, Vietnam war protest on the campus of Kent State University in Ohio. Three founding members of the band attended Kent State at that time.

Gerald Casale (co-founder, co-lead vocalist and bass player) said that was "the most DEVO day of his life." The theory that humankind is evolving in reverse. That was the first evidence that hit him square in the gut and the heart and the mind that this was true.

"In the next two years, I realized that the system was rotten to the core. That everything I believed was an illusion."

there is a reason Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Robert F. Kennedy were both assassinated in 1968.

1968 was a pivotal year for the whole world; for how USA's Civil Rights Movement and movement against the Vietnam War came to a head in France's country-wide rebellion of Mai 1968.

a rebellion, btw, facilitated by strikes & wins.

sordid,

Again you are ignoring that the populations in the east were targeted by bombings and raids by Banderites.
Russians were extremely willing to settle for just Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk even in 2023. It is literally too late to negotiate now, especially since Patriot missiles are being diverted to Israel. Most likely Ukraine will be turned into a rump state on the extreme west end by Kiev, or that will be absorbed into Poland.
Each of the points I just made can, again, be backed up by links if you have the time to read them. Links which cite Washington and Kiev's own words. I'm happy to explain why I hold what I see as the correct deescalatory antiwar position.
We can't just overlook indiscriminate bombing of civilians and terrorist attacks deep into Russia with long range weapons and ignore the immediate escalation Russia takes to show their level of cost investiture has risen in accordance with the risks of inaction (ESPECIALLY WHEN WE SEND LONG-RANGE WEAPONS AND WHEELED ARTILLERY).
Pacifist argumentation itself is folly. Pretending other people will submit to pacifist arguments is insanity. United Russia party follows well-understood realpolitik.
Time to consider what the neocons really wanted out of all this. Want to see a Children's Hospital on auction by Blackrock? Might still be up.

Today in Labor History March 30, 1856: The Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the Crimean War, between Russia and the victorious Ottoman Empire (allied with the UK, France and Sardinia-Piedmont). The flashpoint was a conflict over the rights of Christian minorities in Ottoman-controlled Palestine, and control of its holy sites.

The Crimean War was one of the first to utilize modern armaments, like explosive shells, railways and telegraphs. Much of these armaments came from Alfred Nobel’s family armament factory. It was also a particularly deadly war. Around 670,000 soldiers died in only four years, the majority from preventable infectious diseases (e.g., typhus, typhoid, cholera, and dysentery), not from battle wounds. Mortality rates for soldiers were 23-31%, compared with U.S. troop mortality rates of only 2% during the Vietnam War.

In the aftermath of the Crimean War, Russia sold Alaska to the U.S. out of fear that the UK would simply take it from them in their weakened military state. The last living veteran of the Crimean war was a Greek tortoise, named Timothy, who had served as a ship’s mascot during the war. He died in 2004, nearly 150 years after the war ended. Despite their victory, the Ottomans gained no new territory, and the war nearly bankrupted them, contributing to their decline as a super power. The Crimean War also helped forge the alliances and grievances that would lead to the First World War, and quite likely to the conditions leading up to Russia’s recent annexation of Crimea and its current fight with Ukraine.

Florence Nightengale became famous as a nurse during this war. Tolstoy fought in the 11-month Siege of Sevastopol. His experiences in this war contributed to his pacifism and anarchism. After witnessing a public execution in France, one year after the Crimean War ended, he wrote, “The truth is that the State is a conspiracy designed not only to exploit, but above all to corrupt its citizens ... Henceforth, I shall never serve any government anywhere.” The war also influenced his novel, “War and Peace.”
