A large tree has fallen down a steep slope in The Smoky Mountain National Park, forming a waterfall of sorts of mossy wood cascading down the hillside. Based on the age, this is probably one of the trees killed in the 2016 Smoky Mountains fires.

Si je ne suis pas trompé, cette chute d'eau se nomme Hiryu Otoshi. Elle se trouve à (dans ?) Shiratani Unsuikyo sur l'île de Yakushima. (La forêt alentours a servie d'inspiration pour Nausicaa et Princesse Mononoke du retraité là :) )

#WaterfallWednesday dimanche dernier au-dessus de la chute d'eau d'un bief à l'autre du canal de Brest. Mon appareil photo était , en porte-à-faux, au-dessus de l'eau, au bout de la colonne, basculée à l'horizontale, de mon trépied.... J'ai vérifié deux fois que tout était bien serré et gardé une main sur le trépied au cas d'un basculement dans l'eau... Mais j'avais envie d'essayer ce point de vue à la verticale au-dessus de l'eau. j'ai bien aimé le résultat. #PoseLongue#LongExposure#Bretagne#feed
For #WaterfallWednesday I have this older image of Whatcom Falls in Bellingham, Washington State, USA. I recently visited this falls again during autumn and not much has changed.
#WaterfallWednesday Pic from today's walk to the wonderful Eas Dubh, east of Shiaba, in south Mull. Waterfall is maybe 25m high. Upper part of cliff is columnar basalt flow, lower part is a mixed sediment/volcaniclastic unit (both Palaeogene). Aslo a wee rainbow at the bottom 🌈 😊 #Mull#Geology#Waterfall#Rainbow
