I've shared a lot of exciting news about Jellyfin 10.9. Today is a bit different as this announcement affects all Jellyfin versions:

The @jellyfin app is now available on all WebOS versions, for everyone! No more sideloading, just open up the LG Content Store and install !

Nobody talks about how the term often makes Spanish speakers laugh because it reads as “huevos” (= eggs, which is informally used to refer to balls 😁).

It's both weird and sad to me that some of the easiest phones to degoogle are Google branded phones. Why aren't more mobiles just plain open?! I did like my Pixel2, but I generally flip flop between Android and iOS. It's now time for Android again, and I picked up a nice and am annoyed at how much on here I just can't remove. It'd be nice to just run one of the many choices out there such as , , Mobian, or . I miss and .

Qi2’s wireless charging brings magnets—and slightly faster speeds

Many devices will get their first taste of MagSafe-like sticky alignment soon.

Hi, another for me.

I'm Neon (or Misa), she/her :trans_flag:, 23.

Some of you may already know me from @neon, I'm testing out Calckey to see how I like it. So far the UI has been a treat. Also hi @blahaj !

I do funny thing with , even wrote a guide for it at https://kindlemodding.gitbook.io (not to be confused with https://kindlemodding.github.io which was actually partly based on my guide and enhanced, check them out too!)

Other things is just messing around with old tech, currently I'm messing with (pre-LG). I've been fascinated with the platform since I was a kid and now that I got my hands on one I gotta say it has lived up to expectations even 13 years later.

That aside, nice to meet you (again)!

, at the time it was developed mainly for smartphones, had this rather simple approach of “give me your logins, I’ll build a unified local stream of all your interactions on social networks” and I sometimes think it’s time to bring that concept back. but with translators/connectors where needed. . I hear a lot of people complaining about the prevalence of Electron. I get it, but at the same time, what's the alternative, especially for Linux?

Few companies are going to develop a desktop application for Linux. They want write once, run everywhere. So what are the options? .NET? Java? Please no. Qt? Licensing nightmare.

If not electron what you're probably going to get is a Windows only binary. I too would prefer a native binary but it's usually not realistic.

mjgardner,

@gizmomathboy @ovid @mcgrew It’s that every app is its own and runtime and process. They don’t use a shared engine like the apps likely did.

If you want to see the difference find some Electron apps that are also available in form and run them all via the same browser app.
