@OkayKay I've spent many Christmases on my own (not really by choice, but it is what it is) and I've got a fairly well established set of tradition at this point:
cook lasagna and brownies for dinner (except this year I ran out of butter) with my favorite sparkling grape juice to drink
This year I expect that to involve reading #WheelOfTime (I'm on book 12, hoping to finish the series by the end of the year) and listening to some good #ChristmasMusic
What #ChristmasMusic do folks in the Fediverse listen to during these festive times? I'm interested in listening to more Christmas music that isn’t part of the American Christmas music canon. My family would listen to Christmas Revels CDs that drew mostly upon earlier British #Christmas (and #Solstice and #Yule) music.
Please tell me about your Christmas music traditions. I'm looking to expand my holiday playlist!
My first baby steps on the #lute. Decided on something seasonal. As I said in a previous demo video of course a lot of guitar technique transfers, but the string spacing and double courses are a big climb.
My own very simple arrangement of Lully Lullay (aka A Conventry carol).

Ho HO HOLY SHIT it's a new track for Metaphysical Shitposting! As vaguely promised a while back, it's #Christmas music! Sorta! It's "I Always Love Tripping at Xmas" and you can hear it here:
The most interesting holiday thought I could come up with was my love for tripping around Xmastime, so this one's out there! It started with a sleighbell -- the most Xmas of Xmas sounds --and, like most trips, got super weird, super fast from there.

Today's video has two English folk songs that are traditionally associated with Christmas-time: "Down In Yon Forest" and "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day". I talk about the history of the songs, and play my versions of them.
