Coming out of post-con hibernation for a bit to start making posts. (Also good morning to the EDT time zone. :4504_aqua_laugh: )
Anime Boston was a lot of fun! It's been 10 years since I started going to AB, and the con still holds a special place in my heart. Last year was the first time I cosplayed Yohane, which has led to a year of fun and happiness as I've met so many great people in the local cosplay and idol communities. This year, I did way more with cosplay than ever before, and while I'm really eager to improve a lot of things, I'm also pretty proud of what I've done (and proud of the fact that I'm now dissatisfied with things that are far better than my best from a year ago.)
Some event highlights for me:
-The Queen Bee concert on Friday. Avu-chan is an incredibly talented vocalist, and this comes through even better live :mexcitedmiku:
-The idol showcase. Every group really showed their stuff. So many incredible performances, I really love watching and cheering for all the groups here.
-An excellent panel on plus-sized cosplay, with both broader perspectives on inclusivity and some great practical tips.
First cosplay pic post, I was gonna be Maki for day 0 but I was late coming out of work and forgot my wig. :TamakoLaugh: Still took a pic with it on back home though.

✨ This is bodypaint ✨ Here's a video of the look I posted yesterday:)
A future goal of mine is to get to a Bob Ross skill level of landscape and seascape paintings, but bodypaint edition 😁
This was my first ever full torso landscape bodypaint.

This was my first ever full torso landscape bodypaint!
I was planning on painting the arms, as well as colouring my face completely as well, but I ran out of time:)
Felt like sharing some rather nice photos of my Bocchi cosplay. I think the MWAM tshirt was a pretty clever touch. I'd like to make a Kessoku Bando one someday though.
I finished my Gohei wand🌸✨
It turned out so nice and I had a lot of fun swishing it around for the video (though I’m going to have to be careful not to bonk my friends with it at con with my flaily arms)
Getting hyped for Anime Boston this weekend! Looking to show off a couple new cosplays. And really excited to watch the idol showcase, a lot of groups have been making really hype posts, I have a feeling it's going to be one of the best yet! :mexcitedmiku: Any other Fedi people coming?
(Takina might not make it, changing Friday is gonna be rough because we don't get hotel until at least noon, and I don't think I'll have her pistol ready at any rate.)
Somebody should totally make a sudden zoom call with me now!
I want to buy a suit of armour for my LARP character and it got delivered today. Now I have to try if it fits well and isn't too uncomfortable. So I'll be wearing it a while working in home office today.
I'm your friendly neighborhood machine learning knight now.
Hey, fuck it, I'm on a cosplay vibe and my Google Photos just showed me some old convention photos. And you know what? My CHU² cosplay was heckin' cool.
Northeast ComicCon overall was pretty fun. Another smaller con (though with a rather big exhibitor's hall for a smaller con). And a lot more emphasis on general pop culture than most cons I go to (not that that stopped me from being anime characters all weekend :ElainaEvil: ). I think the crowd was a combination of older nerds and kids, which was cute (so many cute events for kids :blobfoxcute:).
Took some pictures at the exhibit by Kelley's Droids, which was really neat. :AquaYeah:
The idol showcase at Northeast ComicCon yesterday was a lot of fun! :AquaYeah: There were a lot of amazing performances! And I think my own performance went pretty well. :mexcitedmiku: (I may have gotten a few more people to watch Macross too. :akko_giggle: )

✨ This is #bodypaint ✨ (Plus a skin tight SFX-grade latex bra)
Painted by me on me! This is Emma Frost from X-Men! I loooove how this turned out and it's one of my favourite looks. It never really did well on social media, but I suppose that's because Emma Frost isn't that known? 🤷🏼♀️ Either way I love it!

Painted by me on me!
Harley Quinn, from the 2011 Harley Quinn comics.
This is somewhat unfinished, Bernardo my daughter was a year old at the time and she really wanted Mama so I had to finish up before... finishing up. 😅

I don't always paint on myself!
As you can see here, I turned my friend Meg into the movie version of Gamora. Unfortunately we got a late start that day! We were supposed to start at 9am, but trains and busses were cancelled so we didn't get started until 3pm. But I think it turned out great even with limited time.
