#aurora chances looking quite good for central France tonight 🌌

I've been enjoying people's photos with a hefty dose of envy - it's beautiful, yet ( I thought ) staggeringly unlikely to be visible at my latitude.

Yeaahh!!! I've wanted to see this all my life!! 😄

( I'll be taking my Nikon DSLR, in case it's too faint to see.. hopefully the sensors can pick it up)

For #smallbusinesssaturday Wild #strawberries, my favourite fruit.

In Polish they have their own separate name (#Poziomki) to "#Strawberry" (Truskawka), because they have a completely different smell and flavour.

I grow some "domesticated" strains in my garden (including yellow and white ones!), and make these #earrings inspired by them on #etsy here:

#waterfallwednesday I followed signs for a waterfall last year, and found this charming walk.

It ended with a ladder/steep walkway (bit rotten and wobbly 😣 ), which led to a Very Big and cool looking Rock(TM).

Large moss covered trees rise either side of a small stream. A red cable is tied around the trunk on the right, supporting the posts of a walkway. The ground rises steeply either side, rocky, uneven and covered in large boulders. Sunlight streams though the lush green leaves high above.

I held onto this unique Tiger-Eye cabuchon for years - it HAD to be a "dragon eye", but where to start??

My regular #wirewrapping technique wouldn't cut it.. and thicker wire can't make the little frothy curls I like.

Eventually figured it out. Thick simple wire frame, build detail in layers, and finally beads.

NOT a style I'd ever do again (TIME arrrghh), but I do love how this piece turned out 😸

For #smallbusiness saturday a larger #wirewrap project: Poseidon king of the sea.

(There's a ruined Roman Temple to Poseidon near my village I like to hike out to sometimes).

He's made from Lapis Lazuli stone, with copper wire, beads and Swarovski crystals all woven together in layers.

It's #smallbusinesssaturday and I'm so grateful for all the nice comments/shares my #jewelry (and cats!) have received so far on Mastodon!

It's given me motivation to start #wirewrapping again this summer.

While fun to make, they're time-consuming/get no views on Etsy.

But TWO sold this week! Might be coincidence but I'll happily take it.. So thanks everyone for kicking me out of the depression-hole.

For #caturday this is Miss Bluebell!

She was a kitten in the feral #cat colony while I was trying to catch Mr Darcy.

One day she would not let me leave - every time I walked off, she would run in front and sit on my feet.

I could.. just scoop this kitty under my arm and take her home?

(I didn't - scared she might jump away as I crossed the road. Went home for a crate)

She was still there, waiting. And let me put her in/carry her without a squeak.

#photooftheday These are traditional painted #eastereggs from Poland called #pisanki.

Some are ones my Grandmother brought back for me as a little kid, others I bought myself later.

They can be blown eggshells, or made of painted wood.

Many East European countries have this tradition, and similar names for them (eg in Ukraine they are known as #pisanky).

They are often decorated in styles unique to the region.

By the river (own, Correze, France)

This is the public forest park next to my small town, and a favourite place to walk Lusha in the summer when it's too hot to go anywhere else.

Despite being next to a large camping ground and sports centre, it's quiet and full of wildlife. I've seen otters, red deer, golden eagles and wild honeybees.

Mina is the kneadiest cat alive, shy but super-affectionate.

These are old designs I'm so happy to be making again.

The choker is a personal favourite, but I had to change it slightly - using slightly thicker chain for the loops either side. Which on balance I hope is an improvement..
