Wederom in het onderwijs stress om een update van dit keer #ActiveInspire een digibord software. Neem in acht wat je doet en wilt in het #onderwijs kan dit simpel. Daar ben ik mee bezig. KIS tutorials. Intresse? #edutooters
I love this quote from @Linkletter on Turnitin's struggle to stay relevant:
"They're marketing it as a precision product, but they're using dodgy language about how it shouldn't be used to make decisions...They're working at an accelerated pace not because there is any desperation to get the product out but because they're terrified their existing product is becoming obsolete."
Bard's new interface tests each chatbot claim by highlighting whether Google search was able to corroborate it. Playing its AI and search capabilities off each other is a clever business move by Google, but it's also an opportunity for students to understand that factoids fabricated by chatbots are different than citations found on the web.
10 years ago, teacher Twitter was extremely helpful to me. There's the #teaching hashtag here, which is nice, but are most people still on X? Or worse, Facebook?
Trying to build that side of my timeline back up. Boots appreciated along with recommendations of who to follow.
@brianb@NewScience101@edutooters Hi, Brian. Search on hashtags like #education#edtech#science#academics#edutooters and add those when relevant to your posts. I try to follow only education or educator accounts. I will share my following list later with you and you can import them so you can get going with more edu folks. That said, it is sparse here…and different. I find value every day.
Herkenbaar?
@crash It is all in who you follow. I try to follow only educators with my Mastodon.Education account. As a result, I see posts from educators most of the time. I like Mastodon.Education and that is what I recommend when I facilitate workshops on what social media to join. That said, education and edtech conversations are still sparse. But that is true everywhere. I also like hcommons.social. Those are my two favorites. @redegelde
If you're looking for a movie that takes place on a military base, has a "girls can do anything" message, physicists, the power of friendship, tension about another country developing technology before America can, and cute outfits: Hidden Figures (2016)
@erinbee Cool sidebar: My friends at Journeys in Film make discussion guides for social impact films, designed for use by (classroom and home school) teachers, community groups, and individuals, and they're free for everyone. They have an amazing guide for Hidden Figures!
