It's been a steep learning curve but it's cool that most of the stuff just works (TP-Link #Kasa and #Tapo, #Ikea Zigbee, #Philips#Hue (using the Hue Bridge, not directly connected to my Zigbee coordinator). Some stuff this uses the cloud (but can be used locally), other stuff takes out the cloud entirely. (1/2)
Anyone else seeing issues with #HomeAssistant and #Frigate after the latest HA 2024.5.0 release?
I've restarted everything and so far the issue is un-resolved. What I'm seeing is the Recordings switch is not reflecting the actual state of recording enabled or not. This is using the frigate-hass-integration. I see the recordings value toggle in MQTT, but it's just not updating in the device within the integration.
HMS Unicorn in Dundee, the oldest British-built warship afloat and one of only six ships still surviving that were built before 1850 anywhere in the world. She was launched in 1824 and is well over 95% original. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/dundee/frigateunicorn/index.html
It's processing the inputs from 2 cameras : a "1080P PTZ IP Camera Wifi [...] Surveillance CCTV camera" and a DIY camera built on a RaspberryPi Zero W.
And it seems to work pretty well, even if it's running on CPU detectors (since I do not have any TPU on hands).
#CAIRO — After a long journey from #Gaza, more than 100 American citizens and their families have entered #Egypt through the #RafahCrossing. Jonathan Webster, the #USEmbassy in Cairo's consul general, said some of those families are telling him they ran out of food and water during their journeys. #Israel
@anderspuck According to the news on #NDR, we also just dispatched a #frigate (the Baden-Württemberg, pennant number F222) there - it will go on patrol off the Lebanese coast. Ironically, the #GermanNavy#F125 class has been panned as oversized patrol boats in the past, and that is exactly what she'll be doing there.
I completely lost track of how many days I spent trying to configure #frigate in #homeassistant to get the results I expected. Playing around with a #coral was really fun, and I learned a lot. However, in the end, I decided to go with the #scrypted plugin and #homekit#securevideo. Since I already have HomeKit and the formerly biggest plan for #icloud, I was shocked by how easy it was to integrate. Also, my wife can use it easily, which is a big plus for me. So now that's ticked off the list.
Would anyone recomment an IP #camera that will work purely locally, with no cloud etc connections, available in EU (PL)? Most likely will be inside, though ones able to survive outdoors are appreciated as well. Ideally to be connected with #HomeAssistant and/or #Frigate (once I get around to setting that up 😅 ) #HomeAutomation @homeassistant@homeassistant
So what have I been up to over the weekend. Well -
I finally found a use for my #RaspberryPi and the official 7" touch screen. It is now running #WeatherFlowPiConsole. But to save electricity costs, #homeAssisant will send an mqtt command when #Frigate detects a person in the livingroom. Which #NodeRed will intercept and run a script to turn the display on and start the program. 30 minutes after presence was last detected HomeAssistant will send an mqtt message to turn the display off and -
Hi, I'm Andy. I started my technology journey with a ZX Spectrum 48K. I learned #BASIC. Later I moved up to the Spectrum 128K +2. A few years before starting college, I taught myself #VisualBasic 5 in the bath (I didn't have a PC, just a book). My first computer was a Cyrix 686. At college I learned #HTML (not CSS that wasn't really a thing). Since then I have taught myself #PHP and #Javascript and I have a million courses on Udemy to learn other stuff.
