Steve Albini dead from a heart attack at 61. Too soon.
I still have a visceral memory of Steve at a Big Black gig at (I think) Leeds Poly (UK). Dressed in black Levi's 501s and a white T-shirt -- super bright under the stage lights -- which became splattered with vivid red blood after he cut a finger on a guitar string.
Brief timeout from shit posting about AI to share an absolutely beautiful film about the evolution of the Spanish #Guitar. Featuring the amazing Julian Bream. The Spanish landscape is the star. I miss it so.
A glorious 3.5 hour meditation on the glory of human virtuosity.
Stick that in your iPad Apple. Oh! No room, you say?
Okay #Guitar people - especially #AcousticGuitar people - can one actually buy just a plain old acoustic guitar these days at a reasonable price? I'd love to be able to get a little more bang for my buck with just a regular old acoustic (no electronics/pickups) Auditorium or Concert size guitar (not a Dreadnought if I can help it) to play in my family room and out on my back deck.
I don't ever plan on playing out, so no need to plug in? I just want to strum and play cowboy chords and shit, but don't want a bulky dread, nor do I want a little Parlor guitar.
Please help with ideas/recommendations and used is fine.
Latest pedalboard. Apart from the tuner, these are all Jeds Peds DIY kits with custom (if plagiarised) designs. Can you guess what they are all clones of? I’ve re-housed a few and built a couple of new ones since last time, making sure they are all in 125B enclosures with top-mounted jacks for maximum space utilisation.
If you want a very cheap or starter #guitar, #AmericanMusicalSupply has an incredible deal right now on #Fender FA-125's. I bought one to have for when I'm visiting family back in Indiana.
The bass part was the reason I needed a drummer. I can't keep up with the fast bits (should have played fewer notes I guess), but my clap track gave me sonething to hang on to for dear life.
