book lovers!!

The tiny but award-winning independent book - @TheEdinburghBookshop - is moving! Only a couple of blocks, but to much bigger premises.

It's a lot more than we planned for & will take a lot of work to make it ready, so we'll be adding fundraisers to help, & you can see some architect designs & plans on the bookshop site now https://www.edinburghbookshop.com/newshop

Chatting with a visiting Kiwi author, Rachael King, in the bookshop today, she recognised me - turned out I had chaired her fellow Kiwi scribe at @edbookfest a few years ago, and she remembered me!

It really is a small planet (especially the literary part of it!)....

Delighted to learn our small but mighty bookshop, @TheEdinburghBookshop is again on the shortlist for best Indy bookshop in Scotland https://www.thebookseller.com/awards/the-british-book-awards?tab=independent-bookshop-of-the-year

We won last year, and have won a couple of times before, which was fabulous. And even nicer because we're sharing the list with a lot of great Indy bookselling chums all around the country.

It's ! Please support your local Indy bookshops - Jeff Bezos doesn't need money for another yacht, we pay our fair share of taxes and also offer a community service.

Yes, I am biased, being a bookseller, but it's still true ! Indy bookshops are a wonderful thing.

As part of today's event in the bookshop, I got to hold a 75 million year old dinosaur fossilised bone! 🦖🦕

We had Steve and Anne Brusatte for an all-ages event on dinosaurs and mammals, with books for adults and children. Huge fun

What did you do at work today? Made kids interested in reading, got to handle dino fossils... I do love my work
