The 13yo and his best bud are lounging on the couch watching the Original Series #StarTrek. There's the occasional guffaw at some anachronism, but they seem to be having the greatest Friday night chilling to SciFi.
The series is almost 60 years old. I remember watching it with my dad as a preteen in the early 80s. #llap
Here's to living long and prospering! Brad and I are on the January/February cover of The Advocate, sharing our love story and talking about Star Trek, Japanese-American history, our political future, and more. https://www.advocate.com/exclusives/george-takei-enduring-love-story
Watching Encounter at Farpoint for the first time in years. When did this cast get so young? I distinctly remember them as being much older than I am, but now a lot of them are my age. I blame Q. #LLAP#StarTrek

My university won’t be stocking hoodies any time soon, so I said #MakeItSo and bought a Starfleet Academy hoodie instead. I’d rather rep the school I wish I could go to anyway.
It’s National Coming Out Day! Two things to know. First, there is no “right” time to come out, and to do so should be your PERSONAL choice, not someone else’s decision. Second, it’s never too late! I came out in 2005, after living more than six decades largely in the closet. And I’ve never been happier.
moi, je trouve que @athenavocat est très bien comme elle est
moi, je trouve que @LivBu est très bien comme elle est
et je suis favorable à ce que tout le monde s’aime

Fun reminder that Lucille Ball is the only reason that Star Trek exists.
As the head of Desilu Productions, she green-lighted a pilot; then when it was deemed "too cerebral" by the networks, funded a financially-risky SECOND pilot that got the series picked up by NBC.
