Those of you who use #Matrix - should I be using the Android app Element, or Element X?
I just want text based comms in the #EMFCamp channel. I'm not fussed about anything else.
The Element website recommends Element. But their GitHub seems to recommend Element X. And, frankly, I don't understand why I'd want one over the other.
@Edent I'd argue neither. element's privacy policy / data collection practices are invasive and it's built by the group that built matrix. taken both together, you're back at square one like telegram or other corpo messenger
try @cinnyapp – there're no mobile native apps yet, but the web app works great on stock android and iOS, though it does require Lowkdown Mode to be disabled (hoping this gets fixed) and supports markdown and the UI is as clean, simple, and intuitive as it gets

So evidently Element now has screen sharing and voice chat integrated in an “always on” room. All with encrypted messages. Making a really strong case for me to potentially ditch Revolt. But moving my friends yet again might be impossible #foss#matrix#discord#revolt#element
anyone using #beeper? how do you like it? how's their storage of credentials? that's the only bit that really makes me nervous.
i'm also curious how well #matrix works for it. my general experience with matrix as an end user with "normal" people has been overall terrible, even with great projects like @element

Jest to rozwiązanie dla organizacji traktujących bezpieczeństwo i posiadanie danych serio, którym nie wystarcza "dupochron" w postaci zapewnień, obietnic i SLA jakiejś firmy. NIKT nie ufa GAFAM.
Nie mam wiedzy, czy np. w Orlen używany jest Matrix, ale mam wiedzę, że nie stosują zamkniętego oprogramowania, którego nie mogą hostować we własnej serwerowni (z bardzo małymi wyjątkami).
Teams to vendor lock. Matrix (nawet początkowo hostowany w organizacji zewnętrznej) nie. Nikt podchodzący serio do własnych operacji nie decyduje się na vendor lockin. @bobiko@emill1984
